Mercure Salvador Rio Vermelho 4 estrelas

The Mercure Rio Vermelho is in an excellent location next to the ocean! A fantastic infinity pool with an amazing view! This is what we expected when visiting Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. I made my first visit to this very hotel nine years ago, and I found it to be excellent then and excellent now. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely view of the ocean. Best part, the window opens slightly so we could hear the crashing surf! Perfectly tranquil for a good night's sleep! The pool bar was well stocked and the bartender was attentive. Breakfast was amazing with everything you can think of. We were warmly greeted by the front desk staff. Jessica was an excellent host! Very courteous and professional, she managed every detail of our stay exceptionally well. Both Jessica & Vinicius speak English & Portuguese which made us very pleased! We look forward to returning!

Everything was great! The staff are the star of this hotel and a boost in our whole experience. We got a sea view room and the view is really stunning! Shout out to Ms Linda, the person who makes our amazing fresh fruit juice every morning. She is FANTASTIC. She os the perfect example of a baiano with all her good vibes and morning smiles. Love it!

Very cozy and friendly hotel atmosphere..Service was professional, friendly and caring for all our needs. Travelled wih my husband on vacation. Room was cleanned everyday, room service was attentive to our requests, only the cleanliness of bathroom lacked attention. Air conditioning, being a beach front summer hotel, worked perfectly. Some of the employees went above and beyond their duties to help our staying feel like home. Mauricio at the poolbar and Gabriel - great friendly delicious tropical cocktails served. Carlos Jose at the main Hotel Restaurant did a fantastic job with a smile always. Barbara at the restaurante was exceptional. The receptionists always had a genuine friendliness way to make us happy to be back with a smile and what can we do for your staying be perfect? Trully we enjoyed once again be the guest at the facility. Will be back!

We stay here on a regular basis and in fact I've written a previous review about this hotel. Although the hotel is a no smoking property, guests were smoking daily on our floor. After repeated complaints, we just gave up. Management took no action whatsoever with the exception of one time spraying room freshener on our floor to mask the smoke smell. Additionally, there was a significant water leak in the hallway on our floor one night. There was no attempt to move guests and deep clean the carpet and the resulting mold and mildew was horrible. Luckily this happened the day before we departed and didn't have to endure this for more than 24 hours. The lack of communication, action and indifference by management was unacceptable. The only bright spot are the employees throughout the property in all departments.

Hotel is old and it is falling apart, from the faced to the service. Bathroom needs deeply cleaning and repairs urgently. It is disgustingly! Felt hotel does not offer level of comfort and service they charge for. Be honest and don’t overcharge for something you cannot offer.
