A mixed bag of a hotel, needs to upgrade a few things.

The main highlight of this hotel is its location as you can enter the hotel directly from the Train station. The room was neat and well appointed like a typical Ibis hotel, however the checkin experience was not the greatest, as the person checking us in was unfriendly and a tad rude. For an international hotel chain like Ibis, it was sad that there was no kettle in the room for hot water, and the facility for a hot beverage in the reception was totally inadequate as there was not even water kept there, leave alone tea and coffee supplies. Especially in the biting cold climate, it was impractical to go down the elevator just for a glass of warm water. They had a counter next to the reception selling tea. Coffee and other beverages and it felt as if the non-availability of kettle etc. was to promote the sales of this beverage outlet. The breakfast was average.

Excellent location accessible direct from railway station

Quiet and comfortable hotel, just outside the railway station and a short walk to the old town. There was a tea station in reception, where you could make a hot drink and ice was provided on request. Check in was relatively simple, but, despite having checked in online beforehand and providing passport details, I had to fill them out manually again on arrival.

One lift is not enough

This is the second time I have stayed here, and dispite the hotel not being that busy, there is always a wait for the one lift. There are no stairs sign posted as an alternative, which would save the wait for those of us that can walk! Sort the lift situation out and this would be a good hotel right next to the station.
