We have stayed at Puka park at Pauanui many times and love it. On this trip we met many new staff they could not be faulted. From the front desk Heather, Lauren,Said, and Stef they were fantastic could not do enough for us and a special mention for the maintence Manger Grant who is obviously well respected by all other staff helped me get my foldable electric in the boot of my car way outside his job description also made sure I got back to my room on top of the hill.You will read reviews of the hill go and see the front office staff for a lift in the golf cart and they seem love getting out of the office to get in the beautiful fresh air of the rain forest. No one every moaned about having to take exactly the opposite. Thank you Puka Staff see you Anzac weekend. Tony Scott

Room was lovely, bed was nicely firm and cushy bath robe provided. We ate in the restaurant which had been highly recommended. My lamb was tasty and a smallish portion, while my husband’s venison was a very small portion. The sauces were very skimpy in volume. Too small. The portion sizes of the accompanying veggies/ potatoes was very stingy. We tried dessert which was lovely, but again was way too stingy a portion, especially for 25$NZ. We left hungry. Would not recommend dining here.

Should have researched this property a little better. Very dingy, dark and unwelcoming rooms. No oven, no laundry facility, very unkept gardens and very little facilities. Not sure why this property belongs in Accor. Nothing in town and everything is a good 30 minute drive at minimum. Bed comfy, rooms outdated and in much need of a decent renovation. Restaurant menu limited. Wouldn’t stay here again, it was nice enough but could be improved so much.

I have been to the resort a few times, unfortunately this time, the rooms did not meet my requested requirements. I explained to the front desk that the 2 rooms we were given would not fit 3 adults and 3 teenagers. It was a busy weekend, but the staff went above and beyond to find another room for me. This was highly appreciated. I was worried about the teens being bored, but once they found the pool, we hardly saw them again. This was their first experience of the lodge and they have begged me to book us in for next year again. So other than the rooms, we had an amazing weekend away.
