Very convenient location right next to the S-bahn station. Rooms were spacious and well-equipped, and the wellness/spa area was very comfortable too. Overall a great stay!

Visited this hotel as partner was running the marathon. Good first impressions, easy to get to from airport and hotel is directly across the road from the S Bahn. Staff very friendly at check and in general throughout our 4 night stay. On marsthon day my partner asked if he could pay for a light breakfast instead of the full buffet priced at 23 euro and they told him to just go and help himself to whatever he needed. Very impressed by this as we would have paid 23 euro for 3 slices.of toast and a coffee otherwise. Room was pretty big amd cleaned daily. Comfprtable bed and pillows. I have however only given 4 stars as I did have a few niggles. Hated the separate toilet and bathroom. No sink in the toilet so seemed very unhygienic as far as hand washing goes. Limited plug point andno USB ports. Hate when there are no plug points on each side of the bed. Aircon was rubbish and really room temp. Marked carpets in hallways. Felt they needed replaced. No information sheet in room. Hotel is well-situated and it is easy to get round Berlin using this as your base and I would stay again if visiting Berlin.

Your hotel is very nice, and the front desk staff were generally very helpful. However, after checking out at noon, I discovered later in the day that I had left a book in the bathroom. The book mysteriously disappeared. I was inserted behind the toilet paper ring. The next day when I came in the hopes of recovering the book, it had not been turned in. I know it had to have been seen, and removed. It would have been very helpful if I had had a chance to pick it up.

It was nice to have the experience. All was good; only one breakfast was costly, and the one-day staff member didn't give water to the kids. Overall, I'm satisfied with staff members' attitude.

I have never had any motivation to write any review toward one of the AccorHotels because I have never had anything to complain before. However, after finishing my stay with Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten, I am afraid that I am going to break the record. The purpose of my stay in this hotel was related to my leisure trip to Berlin. I was expecting to have an enjoyable stay guaranteed by, under normal circumstances, the stellar standard of service from AccorHotel and/or the Novotel Hotels. However, my stay was rather an opposite to this expectation. First, the hotel looked rather gloomy when I entered. The check in process went smoothly. However, I began to notice that my accommodation request that I submitted upon booking was not entirely fulfilled. Although the hotel allocated a room located in the corner side of the buidling, I could not help but to notice that my room was located in a lower level of the building while I explicitly asked for a room in a higher level. I could have let go this inconvenience. However I was left with other inconvenience as well. The faucets in the bathroom were corroded and the shower heads were not properly cleaned. I decided to let go this minor inconvenicence, especially after knowing that the minibar is provided for free and it is filled daily. Or so I thought In the first morning of my stay, the house keeping staff just brought himself into the room without knocking, which was an inconvenience to me. Then, I decided to take a breakfast and went out for the day. Before I left the room, I could not find the "please clean my room/do not disturb" board sign. So I told the reception that I am going out and I requested that my room to be cleaned. 6 hours later, my room is still a mess and the minibar is not filled. However, I saw the "please clean my room/do not disturb" board sign hanging on the door handle of my room this time around Second morning, the house keeping stuff barged into my room again. With his broken English, he tried to tell me to turn the room board sign around if I do not wish any room service, which I already did. I ordered an in room breakfast, and it was delightul. After breakfast I decided to go out for the day. I told the receptionist about this room service situation thing, and they said that the minibar will be filled this time. The issue seemed to be addressed, or so I thought. Upon my return, my room was still a mess, and the minibar is half-filled. However, the service of following nights were rather okay. My room was cleaned, and the minibar is filled. I decided to forego the room service, as I decided to went out longer and therefore needed the time to rest in my room longer. During my stay, I also used the fitness center. Again, the whole ambiance of the fitness center is also very gloomy and things looked like they have been abandoned for quite some time. But, the facility was useful to keep up with my workout routine. The last stroke in the camel's back to me was on my departure day. I have calculated that I will have enough time to have my welcome drink before leaving the hotel to the Berlin Central Station. So I decided to leave my heavy baggage in the baggage cabin. As I finished my drink, I went to reception and asked to have my baggage retrieved from the baggage cabin. For some reason, technical or otherwise, the baggage cabin was locked, and the keycards were not working. On top of that, the staff who supposed to have the physical key of the baggage cabin was not in the office, so they have told me. I kept telling them that I need to be in the train station soon, but nobody was paying attention to me. Then, I decided to be more apprehensive as demanded that my baggage to be retrieved from the cabin soon. But it was too late, I missed my train. Out of pure dissatisfaction and anger, I demanded to see a supervisor. I needed to communicate this issue to someone in charge. I explained the issue to a staff, who supposed to be the supervisor. I was not expecting for any compensation or anything due to this problem. I was rather expecting an assumption of responsibility to the damages and inconvenience caused by this issue. However, the "supervisor" told me that "I would have been late for the train either way even if my baggage would have been retrieved on time". Hearing that remark was a dissapointment, especially coming from a staff of a Hotel that pride itself on its stellar customer service. One thing is certain. I will not book another stay with this hotel ever again, and I will recommend everyone within the network of my extended friends and colleagues to be wary should they ever decide to book a stay in this hotel.
