ibis Fulda City 2.5 stars

We had a nice one night stay at Fulda Ibis and was glad to find a nice hotel in the centfum of the city. We missing the option to eat a dinner on the hotel. We get a very NOT very tasty pizza delivered to the hotel.

At check in reminding of our booking for room with twin beds. Arriving to room being one double bed. Welcome letter and drinks voucher placed on bed for totally different person. Returning to reception who state being unable to correct obvious error due to rooms allocated by person not on duty. Wrote a complaint to Hotel Manager. No response at all here 3 weeks later. Poor service even towards loyalty Gold members. Next morning going to breakfast buffet searching for trays and plates. Appeared that indifferent receptionist had to hand out these things - person should in that case show better service mindedness. By the way, only herb tea at breakfast - no kind of black tea when asking. Like only offering decaf coffee for coffe drinkers.

Efficient check-in although receptionist also works at the bar. Simple but spacious room, fully functional for working. Decent morning breakfast. Had room on fourth floor but disturbed at night by the noise of passing trains. Willing to accomodate this dsicomfort for reasonable room rate.

I stayed at the Ibis a few times over the last months for business. Always got a parking space, it's also not far from the main station. Staff were friendly when I arrived. The breakfast is worth the extra charge. Rooms are very different in size. I had rooms in the newer part of the hotel. Those were huge. In the 'older' part they were normal size. Funny was one stay where room service had set up the additional bed. That couldn't be changed so I had no desk.

Hotel easy to reach from the motorway (north-south across Germany); some parking slots in front of the hotel (if too late - you will have troubles putting car on one of those slots however). Hotel room (on December 20 !) with heating completely turned OFF when we arrived in the middle of the night ... not very pleasant temperature / you don't feel any "warm" welcome ...
