Being charged a 2% surcharge from such a large corporate company is disappointing - it's certainly not cheap to stay at your hotel. I travelled for over 5 weeks in New Zealand and you were the only hotel that charged me this and I stayed at a lot smaller and larger hotels than yourself. I will be feeding this back to the travel agent.

My bed was lumpy. Also I think that you should look to be more creative with your breakfasts. Stock standard breakfasts for those of us who travel a lot means that the breakfasts are pretty much the same wherever you go and the cost is ridiculous for what you get. Steak and black pudding options, fried onions, a wider range of pastries and smoothies in a bigger glass rather than a shot glass would be an improvement. It would stand out and would be a significant reason for choosing Novotel over your competitors.

All staff in all areas of the hotel were very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. Exactly what we needed for a girls night away. Even the busy with large groups booked to stay, all staff, reception, front of house, bar staff (and even staff behind the scenes - e.g chefs and cleaners) were friendly and helpful. They all had genuine smiles and greeted and farewelled.

Our room was comfortable and quite adequate for 2 nights although the curtains looked as if there had been a murder and were quite off putting. The room was serviced daily and meals at the Caucus restaurant were appealing and well priced. Service was great in the restaurant.

I could not shower as the shower was broken! I don't know why it wasn't fixed before my stay as it was obvious it was broken. Luckily there was a bath tub, however, it held me up ad I needed to rush in the morning. The far lift didn't work properly and sent me to the wrong floor. Tried to correct it by going back down to the ground but this didn't work. It showed floor 4 but in reality it went to 6 so rather than risking getting stuck I walked two flights down to the ccorrrect floor. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was great for the evening meal. I also had an excellent sleep in the bed.

The title says it all. My only complaint would be that I found the Restaurant and room service menus had little available for a person with diabetes.

Overall all good. Staff, cleanliness, decor facilities. If an improvement is required it would be that your billing system should recognize when you have food and it gets charged then when you check out as a Accor member the system should automatically do the discount, the customer should not need to have it applied.
