there is no mention on your website(s) of the strict controls being implemented at your hotels. We were essentially confined to our rooms. We couldn't even use the restaurant area under 'social distancing' recommendations.

Good location for where I was working. Good clean comfortable room. Only issue is the lack of TV channels, not all freeview channels are available.

Great stay, spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms. Super friendly staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. All topped off with an excellent breakfast. A level above the competition, yet at the same price, why go anywhere else? I look forward to staying again.

The guy on the night shift was rude I went down to ask for food as it side 24/7 Butt was told to go mcdonald's The room was disgusting Never again would I stay in this hotel And cost me 9.00 pounds for two pots of porridge Think it's disgusting

Very noisy

While the hotel is well located staff are great. It was extreamly disappointing that it is so noisy. There is a fair amount of traffic noise from the road but the fact that there were guests running up and down the corridor screaming and shouting knocking doors and slamming doors during the early hours IE 3 o clock in the morning has put us off staying at this hotel again. As I said the hotel staff are friendly and very help full and hotel is clean and tidy.

Two nights, two different experiences

The first night was great. The gentleman at breakfast extremely helpful and offered to cook vegetarian sausages without even asking. The second night was bad. There was a lot of noise from the bar and even a young child running up and down the corridor and shouting past 11.30 at night. The next day we were told we should have come out of our room and complained. However going to complain to the staff at the reception/bar in front of the noise makers might not have gone down well. We were told we could have telephoned the reception using our mobiles but I said they were on charge on the opposite side of the room and anyway, the noise and child running went on so long, staff must have been aware and did not stop it. They didn’t need us to call. Then worse, at midnight, a man came through an interlocking door from the room next door. It must be obvious what the door is so the man must have been a fool or on a mission. Luckily, we had a case in front of the door and I was still half awake so jumped out of bed and pushed the door shut. There was a key lock but that was not in use. There was also a thumb turn lock that we had locked on arrival the previous day. It appears the staff failed to lock the door on the other side as the room is normally only used by families using connecting rooms, and also opened the thumb during cleaning on that morning and did not turn it locked again after. The lady on reception seems to take the stance that the customer is wrong even if something has happened. Even if something is possible her stance is that it is impossible. The hotel records were showing no one stayed in the room next door (later found out someone checked in late) and then the lady told my wife that it was not possible to open the interlocking door. She then visited room 2 to find out it was very much possible if the doors are not locked by staff. My wife had failed to sleep all that night and a measly offer of a free breakfast was rejected. The lady eventually offered a full refund after my wife pointed out a lady could have been in that room on her own and the situation might have been even more disturbing. A shame. Second time at hotel, first time they charged breakfasts twice and took a week of calls to get sorted out. Linen also needs replacing. A pillow was swapped due to brown marks on it, but towels were old, rough and had some marks on as well. Not sure we would stay again although third time lucky maybe But should a guest need luck to have a good stay?

I was contacted Sunday morning by the staff on duty and after they explained the situation I told them not to charge anything and I just checked and your £240 pre auth made on line has been fully cancelled. I will definitely follow this up with the staff at the Bar and with the morning staff next morning to ensure a better resolution of these issues. I have also informed my Head Housekeeping to do a daily check on the intercommunicating door between rooms 2 and 4 to ensure this will never happen again.
