Uncomfortable bed, old pillows, room in poor state, dog barking most of the night in another room, shower in poor state, mold on tiles and orange fat diposits, staff not on desk, wont be repeating the experience

Reception very friendly but the room was extremely hot and the windows only open an inch so could not cool it. Used fan turned up as much as possible but still very uncomfortable.

I am writing in more detail to HO. Where do I start? Room was filthy. Equipment not working. Insects in bed. Blood on duvet. Photos taken. Least said at moment the better.

I had to change room as the first had debris on the floor. The second wasn't much better and generally filthy. Carpet in the room was threadbare in places and just disgusting to walk on. All surfaces are sticky and cupboards falling apart. The bed was lumpy and worn. Foyer reception and lift were okay. The stairway smells of urine and made me feel sick. Other guests were noisey at 2am. All in all an unpleasant experience. Staff were attentive, polite and helpful hence the 3 stars and not 1 star.

The room was not clean - dried on tomato pips on the desk and hair on the window. I was staying for four nights/five days. On the third day I asked for the room to be serviced and told it would be. It was not done. I asked again the next day and said that I had asked the day before to no avail. The staff apologised, put the omission in the book and promised that the room would be serviced. Again it was not. Four days without fresh mugs, no cleaning, no top up supplies - it is not good enough for a longer stay. I have been staying at that hotel for 6 years. I will find somewhere else now when I visit my son as I do not wish to stay somewhere where the shower is not cleaned, the staff are totally inadequate and I do not feel as if my custom is valued one jot.

Room lighting was dim. Wood surfaces felt tacky as if the cleaning agents used had softened the varnish. Otherwise, happy with stay.

Staff were extremely polite and helpful, room was clean and breakfast was very nice, overall perfectly expectable for the short stay, I will stay again.

It’s a good hotel. Staff brilliant and the place was clean. Book early as the price for a Saturday night was almost £150… for a budget hotel in Cardiff?? Also the towels in the rooms had seen better days. Would I stay again? YES

Stayed at this ibis and felt extremely safe. Checked in on line, when arrived at the hotel it was clearly signed for masks to be worn, hand sanitisers where available. Staff and guests abided by 2 metre space. Once in the room a leaflet explaing that staff would not be cleaning the room during our stay unless we requested, we were only there for 3 days so no need. Tea and coffee supplies were available at reception. It also explained what to do when checking out. At checkout we left the room key in the check out box. Everything was clearly explained and we felt safe at all time but knew if we had any problems the staff were available 24/7

I really like this hotel,the staff are excellent,very friendly & helpful my staff like Ibis so we are now going to use ibis hotels permanently ,we are working away permanently and travel the length and breadth of the country,our next stop is Liverpool,Alderhey children’s hospital

We expected the price to be quite high as this was a last minute booking but were pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious and in a quiet location thus ensuring a good night's sleep. The hotel and room was very clean,the staff very helpful and it was good value for money. We will definitely look to book an Ibis Hotel in the future as we were very impressed with the hotel and the price.

I have used this hotel regularly since 2002 and usually it is a reasonable hotel for one or two nights. This last stay was disappointing in that I found my room lacking the cleanliness I have been used to, the toilet had not been cleaned properly, the water in the sink took ages to clear and the tea/coffee facility was a let down as the mugs were sticky. This may have been a one-off so I shall use the hotel again but if I have the same experience I shall use another hotel.
