Accessing the property was challenging as a pin number is needed to open the security gate and you have to telephone reception on arrival which took a couple of attempts for it to work. Reception was welcoming and appropriately COVID-19 sanitary. Parking for one vehicle is at the room door. I shared with a work colleague a room with a queen bed and a single. The room was spacious with a bar fridge, kettle, 2 mugs and 2 water glasses, flat screen TV, a desk and one desk chair - not two. We were provided with 2 x bath towels, 1 hand towel, 1 face washer and a bathmat. When 2 people are booked in one has to wonder why only 1 hand towel and 1 face washer? Take your own toiletries as only one shower gel and shampoo were provided. On check in, I was informed to contact them if we needed more of anything. However, champagne glasses were not able to be supplied when requested. The bathroom is small with no bath. We had to run the hot water for a long time to get warm water, otherwise standard fit out. The beds and pillows etc. were comfortable. There is a few chairs and tables scattered around the outside lawn/garden area for general use but none dedicated to your room. The rooms are not soundproof, we could hear someone snoring (through the brick wall) on one side and lively discussion coming from the room on the other side so one of our nights were not the most peaceful. Being on the Stuart highway, just on outskirts of town, there is constant traffic noise to a greater or lesser degree most of the time. Check out was easy however, the invoice that was emailed to me didn't arrive and I had to telephone for it to be resent which it was. Unfortunately, the hotel had only recently re-opened after COVID restrictions and the restaurant/bar was not open so unable to use this with the Accor discount.

We understand that the hotel is just getting back to "normal" after covid19, Staff were friendly and helpful - we even found a beautiful green tree frog out the front of the hotel. Room was comfortable but the shower took a while to heat up.

I thought the room, which was supposed to be Deluxe, did not appear to be any different to a standard room. Whilst clean enough, it was poorly appointed, broken glass in the shower, tiles missing/broken and just generally very tired. The room key did not work and I discovered it was already open. I got a new key that did work but when I left the next morning and returned later that day, I discovered that the room had not been locked after being cleaned, leaving my personal items (including an expensive laptop) at risk. My milk for coffee was not replaced and I had to walk over to the office to get more. Dinner was an unusual experience. There were two staff available and only three customers at seats. I waited three minutes before I was approached for seating. Another customer arrived behind me in the meantime. He was seated straight after me and brought water and then ordered a meal. It took another five minutes for them to remember me, bring water and take my order. Other customers arrived progressively, ordered and received their meals and I continued to wait until well after them before I received mine. Ordered a drink (eventually), but when finished, was never offered another. Not a good experience. I understand I was in Katherine, but I would hope we can do better than this.

Ran a program of Mental Health First Aid, for Military, Police, and Emergency services personnel and their Families over a four day period. The staff could not do enough for us every thing fell into place and went like clockwork. The catering was superb and delivered hot and fresh. The chef even prepared takeaway meals for people who had to return to Darwin early. On behalf of Billeroy Veterans and the Darwin RSL thank you.
