ibis Amsterdam Centre Stopera 3 gwiazdki

I first stayed in this hotel in November 2014. The facilities, location, staff and value are such that it’s my hotel of choice in Amsterdam, and I don’t bother researching any other hotel. The staff are genuinely friendly and very helpful. The location is sensational and within walking distance of most places of interest and certainly within walking distance of Central station. The facilities are excellent for the price in my opinion, and the buffet breakfast is an absolute must. I can’t wait to go back. Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities and the Ibis Stopera makes it just so much better. James from Sydney.

Spędziliśmy z żoną 8 nocy w hotelu ibis Amsterdam Centre Stopera. Zostaliśmy zakwaterowani w bardzo cichym pokoju daleko od windy i z widokiem na dość szeroki kanał po którym pływało ptactwo wodne i, dość rzadko, bardzo ciche statki turystyczne. Można też było obserwować życie mieszkańców domów po drugiej stronie kanału. Pokój hotelowy, niedawno remontowany był regularnie sprzątany. W porównaniu z innymi hotelami Ibis, np. w Warszawie, pokój był stosunkowo ciasny. Jednak biorąc pod uwagę stosunek jakości do ceny, jego wielkość trzeba uznać za wystarczającą. Hotel serwuje bardzo smaczne i bogate śniadanie w formie bufetu. Hotel oferuje bardzo korzystne położenie względem atrakcji turystycznych. Centrum historyczne miasta jest bardzo blisko, a wiele muzeów jest w zasięgu krótkiego spaceru, np. Dom Rembrandta, Muzeum Morskie, Muzeum Żydowskie, Centrum Nauki Nemo, ogrody botaniczny i zoologiczny. W pobliżu jest też stacja metra i przystanki autobusowe do atrakcji znajdujących się poza miastem jak np. do Zaanse Schans. W hotelu ibis Amsterdam Centre Stopera spędziliśmy bardzo miło czas i udało nam się zobaczyć dużo ciekawych miejsc w Amsterdamie i poza miastem. Zdecydowanie polecamy ten hotel innym turystom i z pewnością do niego wrócimy.

I will not recommend booking this hotel. Its not worth it. I paid an exorbitant €231 per night. I have stayed in 12 hotels in this trip of Europe and this was the most expensive hotel and possibly the worst in every sense. I don’t think this is a 3 star hotel. The room is very basic (feels like a motel). Location is not close to Amsterdam centraal station or the metro or the canal belt or the city centre. There are no buses or trams servicing the street where the hotel is located. Cleanliness was poor, stain on pillow, dust and a lost sock from some previous guest under the pull out couch, hair on mattress behind the pillow near the headboard, soiled quilt inside quilt cover. As i write this review, I am at a 4 star hotel located in the 8th arrondissement, a 3 mins walk from the champs élysées and i only paid €183 per night for this hotel. Included in this price, the hotel provides complimentary non alcoholic drinks in the mini bar, a wide spread of cakes, croissants, juices, tea, coffee every afternoon from 2 pm to 2 am. In comparison, the ibis did not even have a bar fridge in the room, did not provide water in the room, no tea or coffee making facilities. I have stayed in 3 star hotels that have all these facilities in the room. Very disappointed with this rip-off hotel experience.

We stayed in this hotel in April 23 which is about 15 minutes walk from Centraal Station and about 8 minutes walk fro Waterlooplein Metro. It’s in a street that doesn’t have anything in the way of bars restaurants or shops. The room is fine but small. The wardrobe space is completely inadequate for two people. The housekeeping is fine but we always felt under a complement to the reception staff when asking for a bed linen change or to refill the shower gel container. I also had requested a pair of slippers and was told there were none available but later I saw another guest with a pair obviously having got them from reception. The bar area was closed most nights which was a huge disappointment and completely unacceptable. We ended up having to go to the other hotels which are all next door. We might as well have stayed in one of those hotels. The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast. It was exceptional. There’s was everything you could want and extremely well laid out in a spacious area. It’s doubtful I would return to this Ibis based on our stay.

Stayed here over Easter weekend 2023, and overall I was happy with the hotel and my stay. In regards to the hotel itself, it was very clean, modern, tidy and professional. The staff were friendly and approachable - always someone on hand to help. I was happy with the room - although at times I felt it was quite dark. One thing I will say is that when we returned to collect our luggage from the reception after checking out, there was no process to make sure it was ours - we could have been anyone taking it. Overall, I was happy and would stay here again.
