Staff were very helpful and couldn't do more but the rooms were shockingly dirty and the cleaning was absent in the days we stayed they visited once and the towels were poor quality

During my stay at ibis Amsterdam Centre Stopera, I found a few aspects that did not fully meet expectations. The hotel is located on the edge of the city centre, which means it typically takes at least 15 minutes to reach the main central areas, and around 40 minutes on foot to the Rijksmuseum. The room itself was quite small and lacked some basic amenities, such as a kettle and cups, which are usually expected for a comfortable stay. In addition, the cleanliness of the toilet did not meet typical hotel standards, which was disappointing. Overall, while the hotel may be acceptable for a short stay, the location, room facilities, and cleanliness do not fully justify the price.

Stayed for a weekend and we were very happy. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Food is simple and good. It is located in a quiet area and a 10 minute walk gets you to the city centre.

I received email at midnight before arriving stating by room would not be saved if I did not pay before 2pm....when check in was at 3pm and I'd previously informed ibis that as aircraft didn't arrive until 3.30pm so I wouldn't be at hotel until about 5pm this was worrying. So therefore, even though by booking confirmation stated 'pay on arrival' I had the stress of not knowing whether or not a room would still be awaiting me. Contrary to what 2 different receptionist told me during my stay that ibis always required payment for first night before arrival, and as a member and regular guest, I have never had the threat to pay in this way before. I'm booked to stay in Mancher for 3nights in May, so let's see what happens......
