The Pullman La Défense markets itself as a 5-star hotel – but it clearly is not of that calibre (at least not anymore). The décor is tired and generally fixtures and fittings have not been properly maintained. Even if they had been regularly maintained, they seem basic and of low quality. I would rank it on the budget end of a 4-star hotel. On the positive side the staff are friendly and were helpful throughout our stay. When we arrived we were given electronic key cards for a superior room on the 7th floor. The room was in a terrible state with stains on the carpet, mould in shower, furniture all scratched up, chipped and marked (see pictures attached). Although we waited for room to be ready (which we were happy to do), it did not look particularly clean. The worst part was the odour (a very strong chemical smell mixed with overpowering perfume). We requested another room - the staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and accommodating. The room we ended up in was fine (bed comfortable and room was properly cleaned). The food at the restaurant (where we had breakfast every day) was good. The staff in the restaurant were always attentive and friendly. The problem is that they are understaffed and for some reason they were routinely out of plates and spoons. Not that I minded stirring my coffee with a fork – but a bowl of cereal was a no go. Finally, the pictures on their website show an outdoor eating area with wooden tables. That area was closed throughout our stay. Not sure whether it is a seasonal shut down or permanently out of commission. I have given the Pullman a 3 star review – which seems fair (given the general state and condition of the hotel). The cost of our stay was reasonable and the nightly room rate similar to other 4-star hotels in the area.

I stayed during my business trip and it was definitely a bad stay! I complained twice from a weird noise in my room that doesn't stop 24/7, I first thought it is coming from the ac then I concluded these are maintenance noises. No one cared to fix the problem. The house keeping made the bed and toilet and thats it, I complained the reception lady who promised to send the housekeeping to check the room to clear the trash and replenish the coffee tray, but no body fixed anything. I ordered a car the night before my flight, the reception called to confirm the booking and then just before the flight we found no car is booked. The reception lady was very careless to fix the issue or apologize. A decent guy I believe is the concierge was very keen to help though.

Noisy rooms, pricey for what you get

Noisy room when you're close to the elevator, even at higher floors (14). 5 stars to service only thanks to Yohann (I think?) who kindly gave me a change of room to a silent one. Average breakfast, hotel cost in mid-high range. Very clean but next time I'll try a different one.

Business hotel located in corporate district. Well connected to metro and sights in Paris. Extra mentions for the wonderful service; Noman, Rachida & Arthur- making my partners birthday a special one! Wonderful service also provided in the bar/restaurant on the second floor by the always smiling and passionate; Aliou, Ramdan, Ahmed and Moussa. MERCI!
