Although well located and friendly receptionist, we were disappointed there was no internet in our room, especially since we needed to work. After insisting there wasn't, we were moved to another room, albeit without a view like we had, and no compensation given. We were told we could have complimentary drinks, as we booked through our Accor, to be told we had to pay for the whiskey after we had it. Thought they could of been upfront about which drinks you could have then and also seeing as we had to move rooms. Added to our stay was the additional 20 Euro a day for parking.

When we arrived we got a room where the air conditioning didn't work properly. We went down to the reception and asked them to try to get it fixed until we would return later in the afternoon. When we returned we assumed that it was taken care as nobody told us that it couldn't be fixed. During the night it got uncomfortably hot and neither I nor my wife could get a good sleep. We mentioned this when we went down and the receptionist told us that they will find another room. We had to leave early in the morning and when we returned we got assigned room 531. We moved our unpacked luggage to room 531 only to find out that the switch where one inserts the room key has been broken and the electricity went on and off irregularly. I went down to the reception to ask for another room. They gave us room 533 but there was basically no cupboard for our clothes. We asked for another room but the receptionist said that there are no other "privilege" rooms available. She then went down and came back with an adhesive tape to fix the broken switch in our room 531. So we stayed in room 531. Furthermore, on arrival I asked to get a parking ticket for the full 5 days of our stay and the lady at reception when we checked in said that her colleague in the afternoon shift will have a 5 day ticket for a total of EUR 55 for the five days available. When we came back there was no 5 days ticket available. I had to pay for the first day EUR 20 parking fee and only got the 5 day hotel parking ticket on the second day at a charge of EUR 55. This ticket then didn't work when we left the parking lot and reentered and I had to exchange the ticket for a new 5 days ticket which worked finally. As a compensation for the first night unpleasant stay the manager on duty gave us 2.000 points which translated into EUR 40 reduction. And, finally, I got 5 times a breakfast charge on my check-out bill though we never had breakfast. Overall, a very disappointing experience

Our stay was comfortable and the hotel well located. Two problems, however: no restaurant facilities at the weekend (while we were there!), but more importantly : I'd forgotten but our stay was prepaid in May, yet the hotel apparently had not noticed this and charged us again. Will try to obtain a refund ...

Hotel was nice and conveniently located in Bordeaux. Felt like more of a corporate hotel but rooms were a nice size. I reserved a privilege room which had a nespresso machine which was nice in the morning. We chose this hotel based on the rooftop terrace but I think it’s usually just for breakfast. There was a make shift bar which was sufficient and you could get a charcuterie plate but really nothing else. The restaurant was closed on the weekend which made me think it must be more popular with business travelers. Then on Monday the rooftop was closed which was very disappointing. All in all it was a fine hotel but I’m pretty picky so I might choose something else next time around.

I stay frequently in this hotel which is well located. The staff is generally trying to help, but the hotel itself is getting old. Some problems are easy to solve like squeaky doors. I do not remember when I had a room without a squeaky door. Additionally, last time, it was the main switch working, or light bubble, and so on. There is always something not working.

The rating says four stars, it is more like three stars. Good thing is the location which ideal when visiting Bordeaux. It seems that there are nearly no staff members who are interested to make your stay comfortable. There is many things to improve regarding cleanliness, service, maintenance, breakfast, but most of all the attitude of staff needs to be changed. Team spirit of the staff is totally missing and it effects the service and it makes it embarrassing to follow their work.

never booking mercure groups will be prefer and get the better rooms. i have a silver status and get a terrible room we cannot open the window and we have only a small bed booking and pay a great one.

Dear Guest Most of our room have closed window because of security process. Every standards beds have the same size, perhaps it will be better to book a privilege room for your next stay. Even if you have a silver accorhotels card we cannot guarantee an upgrade, it is upon availabilities. Best regards,

I you only have one night you should stay In a very central location. The Mercure is in the middle of Bordeaux. Please inform in advance we’re to park and how to get there. Otherwise it is hard to find the parking through to busy streets of Bordeaux. Online checkin is available. A very nice stay. Although we did not have breakfast, it is automatically on you bill. So beware and check it. I had to return and have it removed. Drinks at the bar are extraordinarily expensive. One glass white wine 0,1 liter was 9 euro!!! We found the best little place around the corner, symbiosis restaurant, just a walk of 2 minutes.

I liked this hotel a lot. It was clean, modern, comfortable and for us, about to take a river cruise, a superb location. It is a short stroll to the river. I also want to say a word about the staff; they were great. I had a little problem with the booking and they could not have been nicer. So I give them A+. In case you do not speak French, they do speak English. The price is very reasonable and I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.
