Great location, a stone throw away to/from anywhere in Chamonix: majestic views of Mont Blanc; excellent customer service by ultra friendly & professional hotel staff; fantastic breakfast that was way above expectations (one of the best we’ve had and we traveled a lot around the world); very comfortable beds in a cosy & warm feeling bedrooms; handy parking facilities; overall, has a wonderful time.

Skiing Holiday in Chamonix

Very nice hotel, located in the center of Chamonix. Walking distance to some skiing areas, next to the station where one can take the train to others. Rooms and the rest of the hotel of a very good standard, ski room and parking in the basement. Good breakfast with plenty of choices. Most important for us - a very friendly and helpful staff. We just felt very good being there.

Couldn’t have had a better stay in Chamonix. The hotel is convenient to the train station, cable cars (both Plan Praz and Aiguille du Midi) and all the restaurants and shopping of Chamonix. Our trip involved several scheduling changes (changing dates and adding dates) while we were in Chamonix. The front desk handled all of the changes efficiently and even made a restaurant reservation for us as well when we thought our language skill would not be sufficient. Our excess luggage was safely stored in the baggage room when we were on trail. We ended up staying 5 nights at the Mercure Chamonix but checked in on 3 different days! Would definitely stay here again.

Had a great 3 days at Chamonix a good resort for skiers and partying and sight seeing, the hotel was in a fantastic location walking distance to everything. Room with balcony and hotel breakfast was lovely the breakfast was exceptional

Rooms are cosy for 4 member families. Breakfast is a very wide choice continental buffet with almost everything you can imagine. Reception staff are pretty clueless. They charged me for a ski pass card which is free in all ski shops in Chamonix. The view from my room balcony was on top of the entrance roof. The roof was littered with wood planks, ladders and tools thrown about. It was an eyesore that workers left there hoping the snow would cover them! Where is the manager of this hotel? what does he do?

Moreover, the 3€ ski pass card is only included in a 2-days package and which allows you to recharge your passes whenever you want. And it also saves you endless queues at the ski lifts to buy a ski pass. However, we are very happy that you highlighted the large buffet for the breakfast that we proposed to you ! Hotel is in a good location with a 5 minute walk to ski bus stop. Good breakfast choice uncomfortable bed. The room was much smaller than advertised on the web site which was a bit disappointing. One area of concern was the room key sopped working a couple of times and reception did not ask for your name or ID when getting a new key so literally anyone could get in. i saw this happen to other people too so not just me.

Love our stay enjoyed our room one negative not enough cupboard space for cloths. Close to town but a very good work to the slopes which if you extremely fit would be fine but if not get the bus to the lift. Great for the train station.

We booked "SUPERIOR ROOM WITH MOUNTAIN VIEW, BALCONY, 1 DOUBLE BED AND TWIN BEDS" . We only found out that the twin beds were sofa bed upon our arrival. The sofa bed was hard and not comfy to sleep on. After checked in at the receptionist, we were required to bring our own luggages to another building across the road. This was so tiring as there were ice and water on the road and our luggages are heavy. The lift is small and slow. We waited the lift for 15 mins every single time.The wifi signal is also weak and poor. Do note that they are only giving 1 bottle of water per room. Even though we paid for 3 pax for 2 nights, they only gave us 1 bottle of drinking water throughout the stay. Which I find that this is ridiculous. Further,yes, the hotel provides free ski storage. We asked for the locker key at the receptionist and they gave us OCCUPIED lockers. We climbed the stairs up and down for MORE THAN 5 times (the locker room is one floor below of the receptionist). When we first asked for the locker key, they gave us locker #81. When we opened the locker, there were someone else's ski equipment in there. So we went up to the receptionist to change another locker key, they gave us another occupied locker again. And this went on for another 5 times. In the end, the receptionist just notified us that he has no other keys left and asked us to carry those ski equipments back to our room. We were so mad and upset with this as the receptionist could have tell us that there were no empty lockers left and we need not to walk the stairs up and down for so many times. Wasted our time and energy. This has also portraits the hotel's failure in security (as we have access to someone else's lockers with keys provided by the receptionist). They should have feel lucky as we are not thieves. The only good thing about the hotel was the clean room and breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.

Comfortable Overnight Stay

This hotel is very well situated by the railway station and a short stroll to the centre of Chamonix. Our room was modern and comfortable with a small balcony. It was also clean and everything worked with exception of the shower temperature which was impossible to regulate. The secure parking was charged at €30 for one night which we considered excessive.

No elevator

The elevator was not working all the 4 days we stayed. We have a toddler and a pregnant woman and they did not bother to make things more convenient for us. The bfast spread was good. The room was a bit musty. The carpets in corridors need extra cleaning smells old and dusty. Otherwise, location was pretty good smack in chamonix centre butbaway from the noise and near the gare. It would be nice if they offered. More convenient stay for pregnant women and children especially if their service elevators are not working.

staff service is very very very bad and very rude - constructions on the block and it was really nuisance +6012 2027510 if you can call me i will tell you A to Z.. Staff cant even do a simple task - we ask for towels - and i have to walk over to get it - it was raining - this damn staff asking me to go n buy an umbrella and walk over to reception..

The hotel is well located next to the train station and the train to Mer de Glace. Very good breakfast. Room is ok, nothing special. Nice balcony with view to the mountains that are facing the Mont Blanc.

Enjoyed two nights and it was a wonderful experience eight from the time we first walked through the doors. Looking forward to returning next week on our return from our trip to Europe. Staff were very good. Room was amazing.

Yet another excellent Accor hotel. Great position, friendly & helpful staff. Our room was spacious, clean,& had a nice view of the Mont Blanc range. The breakfast was amazing. We only had b& b so can’t comment on the meals offered at other times. We arrived early. The manager was extremely helpful as was the trainee manager, Upi, on our departure. I can certainly recommend this hotel

I have used this Hotel a number of times and it is still very good, but the rooms are beginning to show signs of wear and tear, with the bathroom in particular quite dated. This will not stop me using the Hotel again and is more an observation than a criticism!

Zero hospitality and not a 4-star hotel standards

That was an important weekend for me and my two friends. I convinced them to choose this hotel and I was sure that our stay will be great as we’ve been always treated very well by Accor being their Gold member. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time: 1) The first impression after arrival was very bad – lack of typical nice greeting, no eye contact, no smile. Not mentioning about typical Accor loyalty program benefits. 2) We received a room on the lowest floor – without any option for upgrade according to our membership status. 3) We booked the room for 3 adults but the bed for the third person was far too short for an adult (I am 178cm). 4) The Receptionist said it was not possible to change the room, so I asked for a conversation with the Manager. I explained the situation and asked for changing the room and some other benefits according to the Member status we have. 5) The Manager (actually the Director of the hotel) explained me in a very cold manner that they have different rules then other Accor Group hotels! 6) The Director called us the same evening and offered a solution: similar room but in the second building located across the street (where there is no restaurant nor bar) – so actually a downgrade! 7) The hotel is rather old and some equipment should be replaced (e.g. hairdryer exploded in my hand!). There was an issue with hot water in the bathroom and not enough hangers in wardrobe (3 pieces for 3 adults!). 8) That there is only one small bottle of water in the room (for 3 people). BTW, it was not replaced with a new one on the 2nd day of the stay. To summarize: Actually, the problem with this hotel is not that it is old or there is not enough water in the room but truly its management and the general approach to the guests ☹ The service completely did not meet our expectations. The guests have the impression they are disturbing the stuff and being unwelcome. It is very far from 4-star hotel standards. I was shocked by the attitude of the Director. The front office at the hotel performs the most difficult work and that's why the right people and their training are so important. The guest is able to forgive the lack of a towel, issues with water in the bathroom or not tasty food. But he does not forgive an inappropriate approach, arrogance and lack of empathy. There was zero hospitality and very bad experience – I will not come back and not recommend.

Dear Madam, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Hotel Mercure Chamonix Centre. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I had the pleasure to meet with you myself right after your arrival and during your stay. I’m quite surprised to read your comment, as I understood you were satisfied after the discussions we had togehter on site. As I explained to you at the hotel, the rooms we have for three persons are our Superior rooms, which are about 32m², with one double bed and two standard sized single beds. We have no Suites or bigger rooms with separate bedrooms and for this reason we had no possibility to offer you an upgrade ( which was your main concern upon your arrival). We always have the pleasure to give Accor members a free upgrade when we have the availibility and possibility to do so. In your case, as we did not have the possibility for a free upgrade, we suggested a room change. After visiting with you the completely renovated Superior room, you decided to keep the room you had been given initially and not to accept the proposed solution. Concerning your Accor benefits, we were happy to offer all three of you a welcome drink at your choice in the bar, even though according to the Accor rules, the welcome drink Invitation is only valid for one person and for either a soft drink, a beer or a glass of wine. Concerning the old equipments in certain rooms, we are aware of this, and we have a renovation project going on. For the hairdryer, we can not see we received a notice from you during your stay (or from clients staying in the same room after your departure). We checked it immediately after reading your comment, and we can today confirm it is working properly. For your other queries, we offered to bring you more water and hangers according to your needs, as these needs are very individual from guest to guest. At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. We usually work to solve issus directly on site, as or main interest is to make our guests happy and make them enjoying their stay in our hotel and in Chamonix. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.

Perfect location for town, Pistes, and choosing the border into Italy for the day. Added bonus was the upgrade to the suites and bottle of the local liquor and chocolates. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Good breakfast. 25 minutes walking away from the main lifts, what is not so comfortable with the ski equipments. The parking is very expensive (30 euros per day).

Good stay but a bit too pricy for the service and level of confort. It's high season though so high prices are understandable. Overall good stay, clean room and nice view.Just disappointed by the bed: the queen bed was not a real one but 2 twins together... not confortable for a couple, gap in the middle.Bathroom could be better, and refreshed.
