Mercure Chamonix Centre Hotel 4 stars

The hotel is really well situated in Chamonix. It provides an excellent range of services, it also has the best breakfast we have had in two months in Europe. The front desk seems to be always busy, sometimes with quite demanding clients, the staff were excellent, always calm and respectful, and above all else extremely helpful (as were the bar staff). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

We though "we use to stay in Mercure Hotels and the stays are high standarts and good let's have a nice trip in Chamonix but in a Chill Relaxed Hotel" well wrong . We arrived and where surprise how many Kids we saw in the lobby , without lying at least 30kids jumping around running back and foward . We though they maybe leaving now . This wasnt tbe case . We had the worse experience ever noise every day and night . No chill time for us . Doors banging every 2minutes even at midnight . We could even sleep we had even noise at 3:00 AM . Later the next day we informed the Hotel Staff that we had the worse night we could possibly have in a Hotel . She just said sorry to hear I know but we cannot do anything the kids are staying because of a hockey championship and the Adults which are with them are just staying in the bar pooring alcohol and not education those children . Well we had a lovely day in chamonix tired because we didnt sleep well . But the Hotel Stay I thing we will never come back to Mercure again . Very dissapointed .

1. Most, if not all, rooms have their own private balconies. These face either the back of the hotel, ie. facing the same range of the Alps as Aiguille Du Midi and Montenvers (the cable cars can be seen from the balconies), or the front of the hotel, ie. facing the city centre and Brevent (another arm of the Alps?) . The block of tree trunk which serves as a stool is very heavy! 2. It is located adjacent to the Chamonix MB train station. It is 3-5 minute-walk away from the town centre, McDonald's being one of the first easily-recognised indications. 3. The hotel interiors are mainly oak (like Ikea type): doors, table, shelves, wall fixtures. Personally love it, esp. the designs being flat and square. This was much more practical and pleasant to the sight compared to 'new' 'urban' furnishings where pieces were oddly shaped and placed. Would certainly seek to stay there again if returning.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and made our stay so much more memorable. The location was nice and we enjoyed exploring the amenities in the neighbourhood. It was fairly convenient to get around with easy access to the subway too.

We had a great time staying at Mercure Chamonix.
