We've booked for Friday 9th August, 1 night 2 rooms(1 room for my elderly mum- wheelchair user and 1 family room). We stated on our booking that we would be late. Due to traffic(accident on the motorway-only 1 lane was opened) we were late- but there was a self check in machine at the entrance- which didn't work. No number to call- out if hours. There was a buzzer- that we tried, buzzed for ever- no answer. So were left with no support out of hours, tried the hotel number, nothing. We had to stay in our car until 8am in the car park- no support out of hours. Just before 8am staff from the kitchen were smoking in front of the hotel, I had to get my little one out of the way, not to breath the smoke. 8am a man with tattoos on him(no badge/no name), no hello, nothing! opened the front door to let people in for breakfast. I've explained to him about out attempt to check in earlier with the machine, he's answer was very abrupt, not kind at all(hospitality industry/hotel?)- it wasn't his business, the machine belongs to a different company. Ok, a number for support when it wasn't working? "Go online". I've asked if we can cancel the 2 rooms, he said it wasn't possible as it was booked through booking.com. He was dealing with me and all checking all the people coming for breakfast, customer service?-Then I've asked for the room, even if it was 8:30am I could use them until 11am(He said that I was going to be charged for them). At this point he said: "no rooms, get out!" Excuse-me is this the way you talk to your customers in front of their young children? My mum was still in the car, I've asked again to have my rooms that I'm charged for, again the same rudeness: out! showing me the door. I've asked to talk to the manager, to make a formal complain- no support offered, go online. He had no respect, very rude in front of the kids- they have cameras at the entrance of the hotel, they could check all of this. He lied to the Police in German that I was aggressive(I don't speak German). I was not, I only wanted the access to the rooms if I was still charged for them. How about my mum- one room was on her name, was she aggressive as well? why didn't you provide the accesses for her? My mum and my kids needed the most the support- but wasn't there. If you arrive with children and disabled people out of hours- there is no support! We went to a different hotel- the same price but the customer service was great. We are not going to use Ibis brand because of the lack of support out of hours, rudeness and verbal aggression in front of the children. Sorry, but not safe. It seems from the old reviews that years ago Ibis Ost was a different place, now is not so good. Happy to provide more details, video with the self checking machine not working, photos with the machine. My credit card was charged for 2 rooms that I wasn't allowed to use: £85.43 and £72.48, total of £157.91 (Uk based).

This hotel is great for transit or sleepovers. The room is simple, tidy and exceptionally clean. The receptionist is kind and helpful. The breakfast is poor, but all the better. It was delicious. I will use the hotel again next time, as a clean hotel is good on a long journey.

Good night's stay here! Would return.

This has recently been refurbished and is a very practically positioned hotel just a minute or so from the Autobahn. It's cheap and cheerful and I'd definitely return. Ok we all know the pillows are rubbish and there's no kettle so bring your own. Minor niggles: 1. I can't connect my own HDMI cable to the TV in the room but surprisingly casting from Android device worked! 2. They do NOT allow the return of deposit plastic bottles (Pfandflaschen) despite the hotel selling them in their vending machines. 3. Breakfast room was stupidly busy in the morning and I had the last table available. Would I return? Yes. However only 4 stars based on 3 niggles.
