Room 321 is sold as a lake view and probably was before the buildings were built in front of it. It was further blocked by scaffolding which is temporary but was not mentioned at reception when we checked in. The bathroom is too small and the need to boil the water was a pain. Finally 321 is on top of the lift which is noisy and an automated voice drones on at all hours.

The hotel is well located and promised so much being close to town, ambience and top class facilities. Then we couldn't check in until over an hour past checkin time only to find the great location for us was up a flight of stairs with a view of a concrete wall. This was not what we expected nor what other guests who were inappropriately berating staff and looking for other places to stay expected. The hotel is nice, food is good but I am sorry we wouldn't by choice have chosen a darkly decorated room looking at a wall in such a setting as Queenstown
