Incredible hotel, management, and front desk etc. But breakfast staff leave a lot to be desired. Nearly every encounter at minimum made us feel awkward and unwelcome, and some mornings were quite rude. Specifically being told it’s 20 minutes before closing so we can’t have water (it wouldn’t be topped up), and we had to go to the bar to ask for it by Bec really topped it off.

The hotel manager do have a nice hospitality for us as a platinum member, esp for a red wine to celebrate my husband birthday. But the check-in desk receptionist would be better if have a more nice and pleasant greetings to me.

Beautiful hotel with a lovely room and incredibly comfortable beds. The team looked after us so well from before we arrived, throughout our stay, and even helped arrange a late check-out as our flight wasn’t until later in the evening. The hot tub was also a fantastic way to relax after a day out exploring Queenstown. We really enjoyed our stay!

We found the Hotel, staff, restaurant/bar and services exemplary. The St Moritz, McGallery Collection, Queenstown provided a wonderful experience for us, a beautiful large Alpine Suite with great views over the Lake/River and it was close to everything in the Queenstown HUB. So far on our half-month trip in New Zealand, this has been the most disappointing hotel we've stayed at in terms of overall service. Aside from a lovely lady in the lobby who warmly greeted us and helped with our luggage on our last day, the rest of the staff felt cold and indifferent. This was especially true for the male receptionist working on the night we checked in. We arrived exhausted, carrying backpacks and dragging four very heavy suitcases up a steep hill to reach the hotel. We were visibly out of breath, yet he completely ignored our struggle. He didn't even offer a hand with the luggage for the short flight of stairs from the lobby up to the reception desk. During the check-in process itself, we received no warm welcome, not even a simple smile. Overall, the experience made us feel completely unwelcome. Your staff training regarding basic hospitality and customer care definitely needs significant improvement.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The view over Lake Wakatipu was fantastic, the room was clean, breakfast was excellent, especially the pancakes, and the valet service was very convenient. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and respectful. There were, however, a few areas that could be improved. As an Accor Diamond member, I asked about a late checkout when we arrived, as we had a later flight, but was told this could only be confirmed on the final day. This is not particularly helpful when guests need to plan their departure in advance. In the end, we were only offered an additional 1.5 hours. I was also happy to pay for a later checkout or an extended stay, but no alternative options were available. The biggest disappointment was the limited evening room service. Our flight was delayed and we arrived at the hotel after 9pm, only to find that the kitchen had stopped taking orders and only basic snacks were available. We were advised to order Uber Eats instead. For a full-service hotel, I found this particularly disappointing. Nine o’clock is quite early to lose access to a proper meal, especially when guests may be arriving late because of flights or travel delays, or simply want a warm meal later in the evening. Having to rely on an external food delivery service after a delayed arrival was not what I would expect from a hotel of this standard. Housekeeping was inconsistent. On some days, the room was not serviced until around 4pm, while on others, housekeeping knocked and then entered very early in the morning. On one occasion, housekeeping entered at 9 am despite the Do Not Disturb sign being displayed on the door. They apologised afterwards and explained that they had been told the room had been vacated. I appreciated the apology, although the Do Not Disturb sign should ideally have prevented the room from being entered regardless. Access to the Level 4 entrance can also be challenging on foot because of the fairly steep uphill walk. Overall, the hotel has a lot going for it, particularly the views, breakfast, and helpful staff. However, the very limited room service at night was the main drawback for us and is something I would strongly suggest improving.

The hotel is in a quieter part of Queenstown but still a short walk from everything. The room was spacious and more of an apartment/hotel style room. It was quiet and very comfortable. The staff were always attentive and helpful and the breakfast was first class.

Not worth the money at all. This is definitely not a 5-star hotel. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience and did not enjoy my stay at all. I suffered throughout my stay and couldn’t wait to leave. I expected a much higher standard considering the price and the hotel’s 5-star rating.
