We have stayed at the Mercure over the years and have always had pleasant stay. However, on this occasion we were disappointed in the pillows. The bed had one pillow each and no spares in the cupboard. We had to fold our pillows in half to even get the feel of one pillow under your head. My only complaint.

Great location - close to Central Station and a short walk from Darling Harbour. Suitable for use as an airport hotel except for the earliest or latest of flights. Pleasant checkin. Upgraded from Corner Rm to Corner Suite - much appreciated. Welcome amenities (including sparkling wine and chocolates) were in the room. The corner rooms/suites facing Parramatta Rd get some road noise, I suspect the ones on the other corner would be much better. Welcome drink voucher used in Eve's bar - house wine, good range of beers etc. Very long queue at breakfast (I believe this is unusual - it was peak Christmas holidays) but we appreciated the Diamond / Platinum express path - however the breakfast desk agent then tried to send us to the back of the long queue for seat allocation. Something wasn't quite right there. Breakfast was a bit of a zoo - again due to the Christmas rush. All up, an enjoyable stay and we'll be back at a quieter time.

Very dirty room, lots of dust behind beds and furniture, long black hairs all over bedding sheets. towel rail not fixed to wall and keeps falling down on my kids feet. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone, especially people with allergies and/ or children

Easy connections into the rest of Sydney. Walking distance from CBD. Good parking and easy to find. The crowd at breakfast was insane. Line up all the way to the lifts. Make sure you get up early if you’re planning on breakfast at the hotel. There was an extensive range. Beds were much harder than anticipated- not a great nights sleep.
