Arrived around midday and check-in experience was straight forward and friendly. Room was clean, bright and comfortable. Perhaps one of the best rooms I have stayed in at Mercure Sydney. The large glass desk provided plenty of space to work from and the windows allowed plenty of light. Had a small hiccup with housekeeping - The hotel has changed to a 3-day housekeeping interval, but still offers daily housekeeping upon request. I requested daily housekeeping at check-in but upon returning back to my room the following day (Day 2) I noticed but my room was not serviced. On Day 3 the room attendant did service my room, but forgot to supply the hand towels and bath mat. On my day of checkout, the room attendant offered to service my room but I declined as it was my due to checkout. Buffet Breakfast in Platform 818 each day was wonderful. Riley and Michelle's amazing friendly personality provides the perfect start to the morning each day. Dinner at Eve's Bar during the evenings was ok but the staff seemed a little distant with minimal interaction. The food was OK - but I was not a fan of the mash potatoes (very powdery and lacked butter) used in my Pork Belly dish. I ordered the cheeseburger the following day and it was delicious, but had the classic problem of the patty being too small while the bun was way oversized. My favourite facility at Mercure Sydney is still the indoor-heated pool, which is a hidden gem right in the heart of the CBD. Overall I had a good experience and will be happy to return.

The carpet in the room was old, faded and worn where it met the wall. The phone in the room did not work. Room service took a very long time (1 hour wait) for drinks to be sent to the room. Was not impressed that you still charge for movies ($15) and did not have Netflix, STAN or BINGE. I may stay again, but only because of convenient location to Central Station. Not very impressive. I have stayed a Central Sydney Studio Hotel before and been much more impressed. Think I may go there next time.

Excellent check in, upgraded room, Accor plus privileges, great location, attentive staff. Only issue was the air-conditioning didn't work. Engineering couldn't fix it either. Was offered another room but decided to stay put.

I found allk these different tea varities in my room that I don't drink and one english breakfast tea bag.There could have been more English Breakfast tea bags instead of all the other fancy ones,not every one drinks them.
