Lovely hotel. Bit more uphill than I realised & had forgotten my walking poles but manageable. Nice bar & restaurant

The staff at this hotel are fantastic. Very friendly and helpful when a request is made. Comprehensive breakfast offering. Nice that some of the buffet options are cooked to order. Good location with valet parking. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice too. However, they missed a room clean (which was done quickly on request) and the room light switches are set-up so that to turn off the lobby light you have to turn off the master switch. This means one side of the bed loses their bed light and to get a bathroom light you need to turn on the lobby light and disturb the other person. Lobby light needs its own switch. Also the air conditioning is very noisy. You can't run the fan at night, but the windows open so we had not problem with room temperature. Overall we would stay here again.

Overall not a bad experience. We were really to busy with outside tours to focus on the hotel. Some minor points; slippers are always an issue for people with wide feet and this location was no exception; we were notified by email that we could check in early which we did only to arrive and find it not ready and that there was an extra fee. It's location is not bad and the staff was very friendly.

John is fantastic. I like the hotel and would choose to stay there again. The staff are all friendly and helpful. My only cons: Breakfast can be a little underwhelming (particularly orders from the kitchen), and the lights beside the bed have odd controls and aren’t the most pleasant (a standard lamp, or more pleasant/warm lights that are simply controlled by the buttons verses the weird fluorescent fixtures. But I like the place, some room for improvement. And always appreciate John.

Clean and comfortable. Great shower. Terrible wifi and casting service in the rooms. Great range of tea and coffee provided, except for the cheap, airline - style milk pods provided that were both sour and insufficient in number.

I have stayed at the Movenpick Wellington a number of times over the years, including back to when it was a Mercure branded hotel. I have found the staff and accommodation of a consistently high standard. The restaurant food offerings are similarly excellent, with a very fine buffet breakfast served. This is a smaller hotel, guests enjoy a personalised experience. My thanks to the staff for making me so welcome.

Staff were marvellous.

Kia Ora Ron, Thank you for your review! We're happy to see that our staff made A. positive impression during your stay. Your kind words will be shared with the team, who will be glad to know their efforts were appreciated. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the room size. While some of our room categories are more compact, we're glad this didn't detract from your overall experience.
