Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana 5 estrelas

Our breakfasts at Fairmont Rio Copacabana were excellent. Our waitresses Daniela and Kesia were very attentive and friendly. Food was first rate and extras could be ordered easily. First class service throughout! Here’s to the next time!

This is not a 5 Star Hotel. Highlights: - Two nice temperature controlled pools. - Music poolside in the evening (DJ or band) - access to Tropic Beach club - Good Breakfast Negatives: - construction noise - dirty sheets - cold temperature (ac is in 24/7 not matter the outside temp and it’s the coldest hotel I’ve ever experienced) - cold water for showers - non attentive staff Here is my experience. I stayed at the Fairmont while visiting Rio for a week. The staff walked me to my room and the moment I stepped in all I could hear us loud construction. When I opened the balcony door it was even louder and directly across the street. Another building having its rooftop worked. We asked to be moved to a different room and they took us to another room directly facing the construction. This happens twice before they would provide a room on the other side of the hotel away from the construction. The hotel wants not at capacity at this time so it doesn’t make sense for the hotel to even offer rooms facing the construction site. After check in I wanted to take a shower and relax from my 10 hour flight. No hot water. I called the front desk and was told I need to leave the shower running for 10 MINUTES for the water to start to get hot. Additionally while my fiancé was at the spa, her treatment had to be stopped because they didn’t have hot water either. Later the next day went down to eat breakfast because I was told upon check in them at breakfast was included in my stay package yet the waiter handed me a receipt with charges on it when I left. Called the front desk they said that breakfast wasn’t included, in fact that actual person who helped me told her management that she had never said that. On to the next day. Came back after a nice evening out at dinner. The house keeping staff serviced the room while we were out. I pulled the comforter back and see freshly tucked sheets with large brown stains on them. Clearly visible on the white sheets so they had to have seen it and decided to just put the sheets on anyway. Had to again speak with the front to get it resolved. Next day I requested that the hotel team bring balloons to the room for my fiancé birthday as a suprise. They said sure and advised that they would deliver at 3pm. We left to do some activities and we’re back at 245pm. At 3pm nothing shows up, 4pm still nothing. I call the front again to ask what the issue is they said they will have someone get on it. It took another 2 hours before some one came to the room. Sure it’s across from the beach but all the copa hotels are. There are much better options on the coastline, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Wonderful accommodations. Comfy bed. great restaurant with good variety . Pools are nice with great views of Copacabana beach . Hotel is sound proof so the secondary bar was nice with good music . Staff are very helpful and friendly

Fantastic service throughout our stay from porters to reception staff , waiters etc . In particular the latest was margio nasgi mento at breakfast . This truly is an outstanding hotel regards location , entertainment , staff support etc

Simply a fantastic stay in Rio. Excellent breakfast and food options. Pool great, front and back to get the morning and afternoon sun. Nothing too much for the staff. We upgraded to a gold room and the view was amazing. This also meant we could have breakfast in the gold lounge which was great. Happy hour and staff in the gold lounge perfect!! lots of nice restaurants nearby for dinner. If you are considering staying them just do it.
