People who work here are amazing and that is why I marked an 9 rather than a 7 the room is a little bit tired and not what is expected of a **** star property I booked with my Accor points and wonder if this had something to do with the room choice.

Friendly & knowledgeable staff who truly enjoy working at the hotel. Breakfast had a good selection of food items. The lounge & restaurant staff were great. We particularly enjoyed the server, Rubi. She was engaging, friendly & quite delightful!

* Great location. I think you just can't be in a better spot that would be closer to everything you would like to see in Porto. * Amazing staff. Professional, polite and helpful. Special regards to Ms Monika at the reception desk. My kids loved the little welcome gifts they got from her. I must say those kinds of small gestures towards kids are something I always pay attention to as they don't cost much but at the same time make all the difference to us parents. * Good breakfasts. I liked the variety of choice although from visits in other Mercures or Novotels I know that it could be even wider. For example it's a pity that there was only one day we had pancakes. I also didn't like that each time I had to ask and wait for a baby high chair. I totally wouldn't mind getting it myself if only it was there waiting somewhere in a visible spot. On the day we were leaving, as we couldn't have normal breakfast at the hotel, we got breakfast bags with sandwich, drinks and some snacks. It was very nice that we were not left empty handed (or "empty stomached" ;P for that matter). * Nice room. We had a junior suite which from the photos looked smaller than it actually was. It turned out to be just fine for a family of 2+2. It could use some more storage space though like clothes hangers by the door or some extra shelf/little table by the sofa that was our extra bed. The lighting also needs some adjustments as in generał it's too dark to comfortably read in bed. * No parking or no parking slots (not sure which one was that) but at the same time we got a map with some private parkings available in the area. Very thoughtful. In general I highly recommend this hotel. When visiting Porto again I will definitely choose it again.
