The rooms are nice but bathrooms really need some work - Super old and outdated. Same with the pool area. Love having the pool and spas but again, it looks like no money has been spent on it in years and it really needs some work as it could be such a cool area.

The experience was disgraceful from the time we arrived at your motel. Check in time is 2.00pm and check out is 11am. We were told our room on level 5 wasn’t ready at the time we arrived (after check in time of 2.00pm) and they weren’t going to change the rooms around, anyway they were told they would call us when the room is ready So we waited in the bar area for the phone call that never came. As we were being picked up for a tour at 5 - I then went back to the reception at 4 to be told that our rooms still not ready. Then the receptionist said she would talk to the manager - surprise, they then changed the room numbers to 3…… Due we are from Queensland we following Rigby leave and the final for NRL was on Sunday night. We asked at the reception if there was somewhere on the motel we could watch the game - we were told if we asked the staff in the bar they would put it on. So upon returning from dinner we went to the bar for a few drinks and watch the grand final of NRL. Only to be told that ‘no that won’t happen’ but the staff were encouraged by us to check with receptionist. The bar staff did that and returned to tell us again - no they will not be turning the grand final on. We are heading to Novotel in Queenstown and we are hopeful of not experiencing similar poor service as what we received at Novotel Rotorua. We will not be using Novotel again. We hope you can make improvements in the immediate future.

Room had various things that needed attention for a 4.5 star rating. The bath and vanity had chips out of them, the unit that the in room refrigerator was housed in had rot and mold at the bottom of it. The general cleanliness of the carpet through the hotel including reception /entry area needed a good vacuum clean at minimum.

We paid for 5 days worth of parking but were only able to find parking on 3 of those 5 days and had to park on the street and walk in to the hotel, so parking was not value for money if you can't access what we had paid for. Hotel was fantastic, clean and centrally located. Breakfasts were yummy and staff were friendly and welcoming.

The room was good and clean, but was really disappointed that the room was not ready until 6pm. I get that it was busy and full with school holidays but that’s as a known thing ahead of time e.g. amount of guests and turn over rate. Ruined the flow of the day as had to change plans around checkin timings.

The bedroom is a little untidy. Carpet is old and the towel rails are rusted. We had the breakfast and found they left the unused cutlery on table for next customer. Poor hygiene.

The staff were lovely and very accomodating but our room was a corner room. The first night it was a nightclub with thumping music. The next night was a fair ground opposite that was on for most of the night and little sleep was had by either of us.

I missed the sign for where to get our water filled. Also the room was not ready when promised. However, I had great service from the front desk who personally went to check on my room. There were socks left in my room that were not mine.
