Group stay with friends, so close to Eat St, great parking, can be noisy if facing the st at night when music is pumping. Easy walk to most restaurants and shops, spacious rooms, lacks a concierge and does seem a bit understaffed at times. WIFI poor in breakfast which is where we do most of our planning so a bit of a pain.

Mediocore. Food in the bar was very average, service was slow. TV didnt work properly and night staff were cross about having to check room. No bottle opener in mini bar. Loo didn’t flush properly.

I had checked in online 2 days before, I am an Accor silver member, I arrived early at approx 1.35pm. Upon arrival, Olivia was at reception and did not even say Hello or Welcome, Our room was obviously not ready yet but she didn't explain this to me until I asked. She made a call and then said that our room was being maintained. She offered me 2 drinks vouchers and said she will bring the key over to me once ready. Everybody else checked in no problems. at approx. 2.05pm I went up to reception again and Olivia made another phone call. still not ready at 2pm, official check in time. More people are checking in no problems. At 2.30pm I go up again and speak to Hareta? who checked us in immediately from Room 512 to 310, she went to get the 2 water bottles and card from 512. when she delivered it, we told her we were very disappointed with Olivas and the arrival process. Why did she not change our rooms much earlier? Then we got a phoen call from reception offering us a private soak in the spa .

Check in was in long queue with only one staff in charge . Staff could not recommend or provide anything about Rotorua.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, however was disappointed with the breakfast experience. It seems that you don't roster enough staff on to clear and setup tables. One day we even had to clean a table, and find cutlery and serviettes ourselves. Chef was never at their station, so unable to order omelettes. Also, theReceptionist when we checked out was distant, and appeared disinterested.

Reception was pleasant with welcoming efficient staff, the room was clean, bright and nicely presented. However the bar was cold and not at all a place one would wish to stay long in. We had booked a table in the Restaurant on arrival in early afternoon for that evening, but on arrival we were given no choice on where to sit and were placed at a table next to the open external doors and despite asking to move were given no opportunity to do so. The Restaurant was about 60% occupied mostly by families with numerous children, but the Restaurant appeared unwilling to at least provide an area where guests who wanted to enjoy a quiet meal could be catered for. The doors in the bar and restaurant were all open wide, we were told by a Management instruction, on what was a very cold windy evening, creating an uncomfortable cold and noisy environment. Interestingly, breakfast on the next morning was a little better as the doors were now closed and the numerous families were not there, giving an atmosphere a bit nearer to that one would expect for a hotel of this standard.

I was a little annoyed we were checking out at 11am on Saturday and room service knocked on our door at 10am asking if we would like our room cleaned. This was quite inconvenient especially when we were checking out in an hour.

The room was comfortable, a little dated but slept well. The room temperature interupted our sleep because it became uncomfortably hot, until we adjusted the air con.

Not a good start with a twenty minute wait to check in. Amazing only one on at peak period. Room key only activated for one night not three. Returning the following day greeted with a shrug and a comment "These things happen". Later on the second day asked another receptionist if it was possible to improve the wifi as it was only 1 mips in 441. Received another shrug with a short "no"
