The staff were lovely and very accomodating but our room was a corner room. The first night it was a nightclub with thumping music. The next night was a fair ground opposite that was on for most of the night and little sleep was had by either of us.

I missed the sign for where to get our water filled. Also the room was not ready when promised. However, I had great service from the front desk who personally went to check on my room. There were socks left in my room that were not mine.

The Novotel’s location is spot on! I enjoyed to option of a bath in my room. Everything was clean and towels were replaced daily. Breakfast was part of the room and that was handy & convenient. The only issue for me was the parking spaces were extremely narrow. I paid for 3 nights but on the last night all of the spaces were full. I managed to find a car park across the road from the Novotel. Our group left the Novotel at 8 am so it was a good option. Located just across from Eat Street was handy - the meal options are amazing.

Family of four prepared ourselves for outdoor adventure at Rotorua and relaxation at the hotel room. Space is tight is one queen room and there is no hotel parking dedicated so it’s tricky returning from a long day to walk a bit after searching for the free parking. The bathroom was tired and the lack of bins was odd but hey you go outside and there are awesome parks and loads of food options around. Breakfast was ok.

Our room was not ready, also the family before us there room was not ready. The receptionist was pleasent but very hard to understand and took a long time to register us . She didn't take our phone number so we didnt get a call to tell us our room was ready, we had walk around town waiting to be contacted but of course it didnt come. Id booked on line i didnt think it would have been so complicated. She offered us a late check out but we had plans to leave around 10 anyway. Tried to get a bigger room and talk about single beds but just couldn't understand her, gave up as it was just not pleasant. She just went on and on about the parking which confused us and the restaurant hours. We just wanted a room with a double bed and 2 single beds and you dont have them, she said we need to buy another room. When we got to the room there was a babys cot in the room we did not have a baby. Clearly it wasn't ment to be our room. My grandson got a small shard of glass in his foot from broken glass in the bathroom when we arrived. I wiped around the toliet area and found alot of small pieces, clearly a glass had been broken Our bathroom was not clean at all. Rang the front desk asked them to clean our bath room, they where very happy to do this, which was possitive But when we went out of the room so they could clean it and showed the front desk, they where not very interested, really could be interested I think they thought we broke the glass. When we came back a couple of hours later asked if it had been done, they where not interested. Our air conditioning unit didnt work so our room was very uncomfortably hot. Didn't want to ring as this would have been the third thing. Breakfast was ok but very grumpy cheif doing the eggs, also the staff didnt collect the dirty plates the food was not refreshed eg had to ask for Bread and fruit. People waiting for food to come out. No towels at the pool had to find someone to get us and other people some. It was ment to be a special night away for our grandchildren. We where very tied the next day from terrible sleep. We will not be coming back

I booked the room for 3 people, a king and sleeper couch. We got to the room and it was only set up for 2 people (2 towels and no bedding for the sleeper couch). I called reception on the in room phone as well as my mobile with no answer. This was a Sunday at 3pm. I went downstairs to ask what to do and was told to get towels from the pool area, only to have the pool area with no towels. Some were finally delivered to the pool and we took some back to the room. My children and I ended up sleeping in the same bed as it was only one night stay. On our departure I did mention my concern to the person at check out and was told I was supposed to ask for extra bedding. When I mentioned that the room was booked for 3 people I was made to feel like I was asking for too much. It is a great location, but attention to the amount of people the room is being booked for should be noted. I stood with my 2 children when we booked in, nothing was ever said or mentioned that I had to arrange for extra bedding.

Too basic and lacking 4-5 star expectations. Felt like we were in a 3 star hotel. no milk in the fridge, no rubbish bin in the bathroom. Only 1 in the lounge. We opted for no cleaning so use your imagination.... Breakfast was mainly cheapest ham, fruit out of cans etc.etc. I'm well aware of the high cost to run a 4-5 star hotel but no need to cut so much on what it used to be. Everything was done digitally. Luckily I can handle the mobile apps but a high proportion of people around my age (I'm 83) have no clue. How hard is it to find out if people know how to handle that and offer a paper copy for reference to what's on offer.
