Asta îi face mesajul mult mai greu de respins ca „recenzie răuvoitoare”. Disappointing 4-star experience – beautiful presentation online, but far from what we experienced I chose this hotel expecting a genuine 4-star experience and paid €1,210 for 1 adult and 1 child, in addition to visa fees and other travel costs. Unfortunately, the reality did not match the expectations created by the hotel’s presentation and promotional images. The first two days of our holiday were significantly affected by the construction works. The noise was disturbing, and the lack of internet was a major inconvenience. I eventually had to make considerable efforts to obtain a room upgrade, which also meant moving to a higher floor where the internet was available. This should not have been something a guest had to fight for during a holiday. The restaurant experience was one of the biggest disappointments. The dining area was excessively hot, including the terrace, with too few fans. The food was far less varied than expected from a 4-star hotel. There were queues at the limited food stations, often only one type of soup per day, and desserts and other items sometimes ran out. The food was also not suitable for everyone. Much of it was spicy, fried, oily, heavily sauced or unfamiliar, which made it particularly difficult for a child and for guests who do not normally eat this type of food. We often ate simply because there was no real alternative, rather than because we actually enjoyed the food. The à la carte restaurant was also a disappointment. What was presented as an à la carte experience was, in reality, a choice between four fixed menus. The options were limited and, in my opinion, did not correspond to what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. The atmosphere and appearance were also much closer to a simple tavern than to a 4-star à la carte restaurant. The bars were another weak point. The cocktail selection was extremely limited – only around 4–5 options – while many other drinks were basic soft drinks from dispensers. Drinks were generally served warm unless you specifically asked for ice. Even the small cardboard cups became soft. The overall beverage experience was far below what I expected from a 4-star all-inclusive hotel. The ice cream situation was particularly disappointing. During seven nights, we received ice cream only twice, in very small portions – essentially two small spoonfuls, served in tiny cardboard containers. This felt completely disproportionate to what one would expect from a 4-star resort. I want to make one thing very clear: the hotel staff themselves were not the problem. The staff were kind and helpful, and I especially want to mention Manager Elia and the Chef/Sala Manager, who were extremely professional and did their best to help us. They deserve 9+/10 for their attitude and effort. Skymax also deserves a special mention and, in my opinion, a 5-star rating. Their service contributed significantly to making the overall holiday more pleasant. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of these people, the overall hotel experience remained disappointing. When you look at the beautiful photographs online, you expect a 4-star resort. What we actually experienced included construction noise, limited internet, a very limited food selection, queues at the food stations, an overly hot restaurant, restricted à la carte choices, poor beverage quality and very limited ice cream. I have travelled a long way for this holiday – approximately 14 hours each way – and paid a significant amount of money for one adult and one child. Unfortunately, I cannot say that the experience justified the price. I appreciate the kindness of the staff and the efforts made to solve some of our problems, but I would not return to this hotel. For me, the experience was decent mainly because of Skymax and the wonderful staff members who tried to help us, rather than because of the hotel facilities and services themselves. I sincerely hope the hotel management takes this feedback seriously, especially regarding the communication about construction, internet availability, food quality and variety, restaurant conditions, beverage service and the overall difference between the advertised 4-star experience and what guests actually receive.
