Novotel Darwin CBD 4 stars

I wouldn’t go there again! We had bread and dips…Dips were not freshly made- seemed to be store brought. Scallop entree - scallops were undercooked and butternut purée had no flavour. No salsa as advertised! The beetroot in the ‘beetroot and feta salad’ was out of a tin. My main meal was pork belly and came out half an hour after the other mains. It seemed microwaved. The “Kakadu plum sauce” was horrible…probably more like a jar sugar syrup … and couldn’t eat it. Do yourself a favour and do not go here. We sent the pork back and …. Paid the bill even though we gave them feedback and they weren’t interested in the feedback

Unfortunately, the rooms are very dated, the beds are comfortable, the TV was large, but my toilet was broken and had to be repaired. One of the elevators were broken for a short time and there were trays from people's meals sat outside rooms for very long periods of time.

This hotel is a solid option for Darwin. It is by no means a new hotel, but is well maintained and very clean. The staff are all professional and welcoming. The bar area is a relaxing place to have a drink. The rooms are comfortable but very basic. Will definitely use this hotel for returning visits.

Hotel looked old but very clean and spacious. We stayed at the Standard Queen Twin Room, and the beds were large, every room sleeps 4. One of the room we booked had leaked aircon (Room 204), but other than that we have no complain. Staffs were very accomodating, room service satisfying. Parking available for free by the kerbside during weekend, and $5 per day at the back of the hotel.

We stayed at the Novotel Darwin for 7 nights between 26/10/22 and 2 /11/22. After booking and prior to traveling, we were very concerned with the negative reviews. We contacted Accor to ascertain the current status of the quality of service and facilities that were being offered. We were surprised to receive a personal call from the manager Mr Aniket admitting that the hotel had experienced issues during the peak of Covid, but also that the hotel service was now back to its high professional level. Mr Aniket guaranteed the quality of the facility and offered to re-locate us if we were not 100% satisfied. And we were 100% satisfied. Mr Aniket's staff were all professional, friendly, receptive and always helpful. We would have no hesitation in staying at the Darwin Novotel again. It is fabulously situated on the Esplande within walking distance of the best local bars, pubs and restaurants. It does need a bit of freshening up, but that appears to be in progress.
