Really but will not come because of plastics products

The hotel is really nice: the pool is very cool, the gym area is ok, rooms are clean. The staff is outstanding and you really feel welcome. The bar is great. This hotel knows what diversity mean with a very diverse personnel. But it would be smart and ecologically-minded to not give so many small samples of products (shampoo, bath, lotion,..) in each room every day and you should rather change it with large containers which stays in the room (like may hotel do today). These are tons of plastic thrown every year from your hotel ending up in the ocean while there is a sustainable and easy solution which still keeps us, the costumers, satisfied and happy to not contribute to this destruction of our environment. There are many turtles around the La Réunion island and their stomachs are filled of plastic then you should ACT and change this. I will not come back for this reason.

We share your concern about environment. For you information, we are already committed in reducing our impact on nature, which has led us to obtain the EU Ecolabel since 2018. Among the progress made in the last years, we have introduced the sorting of waste in every part of the hotel so that plastic does not end in the ocean, we only use environmentally friendly cleaning products, we favor local food products and we select energy-saving equipments. Regarding the samples of products, there are only offered in priviledge rooms and suites. As they belong to operational standards of Mercure brand, we have shared your view with Accor group so that it is taken into account. Your comment is very helpful. Excellent stay to Mercure Creolia in Saint Denis La Réunion. staff is unbelievable ! Great service from the front desk - special thanks to Fleur, Fanilo, Virginie and the restaurant and bar as well. Everyone was fantastic to accommodate our stay despite my travelling context situation. Well done ! keep maintaining it !

Bad service

We have expected to have a great service with is required of titre MERCURE groupe We are not satisfied with their service There is no electricity when I have to go down by the lift which is out of service There was no internet when I needed When we have had the problem of the room which is situated by the under constriction which has started from 7 am we complained to the service and require to do something or change the room They can not propose anything We think we will never stay at this hotel with this price not value with 4 stars hotel

Dear client, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Hôtel Mercure Créolia. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; allow me to express my sincerest apologies. Please note that this problem was a true exception to our normal practices. During your stay, there was indeed a general power cut in our quarter by EDF (the French electricity supplier), which has caused the breakdown of our lifts and of our internet equipment. Our generator took over in a few seconds, but then we had no other choice than wait until our Internet modem restarts. Rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to reduce as much as possible the inconvenience caused in such cases. We are looking forward to welcoming you again at Mercure Creolia. Very Friendly Hotel

This hotel is 10 km away from the airport and 5 km away from the centre of St Denis-very handy is their free shuttle with very kind driver Henrike (sorry if it wrong spelling) that will pick you up/back from the airport and take you to/back from town. You must make sure you book all though as the shuttle runs to schedule. Mercure has a sweeping view (may be the best) over St Denis. I could see that most rooms had a balcony with table and chairs, Complimentary bottle of water every night left cold in the fridge, room are fine though the walls are not well insulated and we had a noisy neighbour. Our son had a nose bleed in the night and unfortunately messed up the sheets but the housekeeping lady of our room 213 could not have been nicer, she smiled and wave her hand in " don't worry" gesture and we left her to clean the mess up. Thank you! The Gym is superb if you can spate the time as there is a lot to see and do on Reunion. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, staff are great and very easy to talk to. Thank you Cedric, at the reception, for sparing the time to talk to us and share what is to live in Reunion. Breakfast is very good-Nespresso, superb bread ,local sausage ,excellent pastry. Prices to eat in the hotel are the same as the restaurants down town so save yourselves the taxi ride and eat in the hotel. If you decide to drive yourselves in town, I must warn you the town is very busy with traffic, all parking is paid and spaces few and far between. I must mention the barman who's name I did not note down, but he had hearing impediment -he was the most attentive and yet unobtrusive barman I have seen. You know how most bar staff can pretend they do not see you or hear you-well this chap was on top of his game. Thank you! I would recommend this hotel as a base for Reunion ,you can hire a car from the hotel (very reasonable) drive round and come back to a laid back friendly hotel.

Great View

You are paying for the view. My room was fine. Bit dark and dated (I was on the first floor). But the bathroom was just refurbished and nice. I was not concerned with the view - as I was using this as a day hotel. Definitely get a room with a balcony and view - as it is stunning. I took the view in from the pool in the front patio - which is pretty amazing. Great breakfast - with view as well. Staff was very helpful. Internet is good. Hotel shuttle to airplay as well was good - but closed at 5PM - which makes no sense if catching an international flight to Paris (which most would be). As that flight leaves at 8. Airport is only ten mins away.
