Really great hotel. The staff was very sweet and helpful. Beautiful garden and pool area. Some of the surroundings is at bit worn out, but it doesn’t effect the charm of this hotel. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back again!

Hotel is so beautiful +The employees are amazing super nice, we both enjoy the stay I would like to come back again. The food is great fast the room is romantic for couple as well face to the river to able to enjoy at the balcony my friends say face to the garden also very enjoyable and quiet

The hotel, while on the pricier side of choices, was absolutely worth every penny. From the historic charm that surrounded every corner, to the warm and friendly staff who after a few days, felt more like old friends. After a long day of sight-seeing, being greeted at the foot of the beautiful entrance with a "welcome home," was very comforting. The pool was a dream, never really crowded, staff excellent, lunch options plentiful! Breakfast was amazing, you were never rushed to finish, coffee was served "pressed," limitless options for any diet. The views are breathtaking and there really is no "bad spot." Bar was fun, sorry the piano player was off when I was visiting, would've made the experience even better. Even if you just wanted a drink, they served it with a snack-lovely happy hour. Gardens are amazing and being able to take a stroll after dinner each night, without having to leave the hotel was a nice option. Nile view indescribable, obviously very noisy at night with the traffic, but part of the experience and eventually you get used to it. Room was perfect size, housekeeping accommodating to whatever you needed. I appreciate being able to stay in my own room and check out a little later because of a later flight out of Luxor. Sitting on the balcony each morning, with the view of the Valley of the Kings and the cool breeze (before the heat of the day) was a dream. Ideal location, great stores nearby, as was the bank, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. Perfect hotel, especially if you are traveling solo for the first time to Egypt! You will feel right at home-safe and comfortable.

Though a regular guest of luxury properties around the world, Aman, MO, Four Seasons , Rosewood, etc. I’m something of a sucker for heritage hotels… Steeped in history, a bit worn in, but without sacrificing any of the creature comforts. I cannot imagine, visiting Luxor and staying any place other than the Water Palace …(Even though it appears they’re building a new Four Seasons, a bit down the road. ) The pool and garden area provide a much needed relief from countless hours of touring, guest services could not have been more obliging, welcoming and warm, and the property itself simply wraps you in a grand history. Go for a Nile front room for the full experience. One word: virtually every taxi driver and horse carriage will drag you to the “old-time Egyptian bizarre “shop in the back streets for their pre-arranged commission. Don’t do it. Outrageously priced, high pressure rip off. Just say no. Do your shopping in the small mall tucked inside the Sofitel.

We had an amazing time at the Sofitel Winter Palace hotel. The service was fantastic and the location was perfect! The views are amazing and the property is beautiful. It’s very peaceful and serene. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel while in Luxor. The customer service by manager Ahmed Abdelhak was excellent. It is the best!
