The hotel is about 1 km from the central station. We were allowed to check in just after 2pm but could leave our bags in the luggage room. Room of older standard and they had limited so you could only have the lowest level on the AC. We were given a room right off the stairs, the door slammed loudly all night, I don't understand why they don't install silent closing doors like they had on reception level.

The doors you mentioned are fire protection doors, which comply with DIN regulations, and unfortunately, we are not allowed to modify them to ensure safety standards are met. I stayed 5 days for work in this simple hotel in a quiet area of the old-town of Erfurt. The room is not big but it is clean and there is everything you need. I had a room with the nice view to the court-yard and it was also quiet, that was very important for me. The breakfast was also quite ok. I did not experience problems of any kind. Maybe a bit pricy compared to the services and comfort it offers.

I'd say it's a bit more of an older Ibis regarding interior than most Ibis' I've been to. But not worse. Room service didn't clean our room on the second day but the front desk was very nice about it and brought us fresh towels right away. And regarding the location and price ratio, it cannot get better than this. If you don't wanna splurge and yet be about 10 minutes from the cathedral and 5 from Krämerbrücke, this is your place! Regarding the parking garage, what a hell. Spiral is for both cars coming in and out and the lights show red the whole time. So you have no clue if someone is coming down or not, same for the main door. And people being headless chickens sometimes ignore the lights and you find yourself in an awkward traffic jam. Forum 1 nearby is €3 cheaper and way easier to navigate!

Large room, good breakfast, central position, easily to park the car, but no charging station. Unfortunately, reception often overcrowded with sometimes pleasant staff sometimes less helpful. On the whole a good address.
