Pullman Dresden Newa Hotel 4 stars

Excellent breakfast

As I stay with Pullman in Asia on business trips, did expect same level of service & amenities, but the hotel was more an economy product. Rooms are very compact, slightly older, but well maintained, good shower and standard amenities. The hotel fails slightly on service where the reception team seemed to be mostly lost and just there, smiles and welcoming attitude was hard to find. Overall a quick stay I would not care to remember.

My criteria for a good hotel are simple: convenient location, clean room with functional utilities, good breakfast. This hotel, while not fancy, ticks all these boxes. The staff are also friendly and professional without being overbearing.

Nice room but lacks a kettle and coffee maker in the room. Check out was slow. Location was excellent- 5mins wall from the central train station and 15mins walk to the Zwinger museum and centre of town!

good experience, excellent location, staff was polite, fair price, the room view was over the Xmas market, it was really nice. One bad point is that the room has got no mini bar, no bootle of water, you have to buy at reception

Pullman Newa Dresden is a totally refurbished structure in a part of the city that was rebuilt as a modern style shopping street after the war. The surroundings lack the atmosphere of the nearby old city but the location is practical, very close to the main railway station with a direct train to the airport. The hotel definitely has a lot to offer, rooms are modern and light with windows from top to floor, the all glass shower is very well placed centrally, the room becomes really spacious for that reason and it's a pleasure to use it as well. City views on the higher floors looking north are impressive. There are some points that do need attention though. For example, the Wifi was out of order during our stay of 3 nights. Such things may happen but we were surprised to find out, when we asked a few times, that this was not considered any serious problem at all and the personnel was not aware of the time it would be functioning again. Next, one day the breakfast buffet was totally overcrowded, in a way that there were queues of 20 or 30 persons and no chances of finding a table at all. We actually had never seen this before anywhere but this was also considered a minor nuisance apparently. As breakfast was included and paid for, you don't have a choice. The hotel received some large parties, likely with fixed breakfast times but such issues should be prevented by more careful planning and organisation. Finally, the hotel bar receives quite a of lot visitors from outside, as in this area there are not many such facilities. Therefore, there was hardly any space left, among these noisy people, for hotel guests searching for a drink. Our impression was that such flaws can be managed but in particular that a rather careless attitude towards such issues should be prevented, as nobody appeared bothered when we brought up these points.

Felt welcome although they didn't pay much attention to my frequent stay level. Room was on Preferred floor, small, but convenient. Service at bar was OK, breakfast was rich.Checkout was slow, due to a full hotel and a tampering software...

We have booked on the same day early in the morning a double room via accors website. Once we arrived, the first room we got, was on the 6th floor. A 140 cm bed with only ONE pillow and a small blanked - not even covering the whole bed. Called the front desk to get a 2nd pillow but went there after 20 minutes waiting. Once they agreed this is a SGL room, we got an another room on the 6th floor. What happened later almost led me to leave the hotel immediately - the room was already assing to other guest. Once we entered there was a couple on the bed watching TV (luckily just watching the TV). After almost a 1 hour we spent pendling between different rooms, we got our 4th room, which was finally a DBL with no other guests in. The room itself is quite small, but okey. I personally liked the big windows and the glass shower right next to the bed. Matraceses are thin, soft and old. Pillows and blankets a low quality. Front desk unprofessional, but the reservation department was able to even TOP it. A very rude woman I called for a parking reservation, once I was 10 minutes driving from the hotel, I wanted to be connected to the front desk to check if a lot is available, or if we shall park at some public garage. In a rude way she just relied no reservations few times, without even trying to be helpful, later hang up. Such a manner I have never seen while traveling. A point to the location and breakfast. No way to compare with MGallery INK in Amsterdam, where I stayed recently and which "should" be the same range as pullman - sorry but very, very far away.

This place is extremely easy to find as it is only a short walk from the main train station and is visible from a distance around. The hotel is located about a 10-15 walk via a pedestrian mall to the old town.The room was comfortable and while having the shower in the middle of the room was a little unique (and might be awkward if sharing with someone you don't know well) it was a good sized shower with good water pressure.Breakfast had a good selection, although it always seemed to be busy.Would stay again.

Location of the hotel is very close to railway station and convenient for both site seeing and shopping. Small room with great view. Breakfast were ok and dinner had was nice. We thank Jan K. and restaurant staffs were most pleasant and nice after we traveled through Progue, Dresden,Vienna and Munich. Safe in room was broken and can not get solved during our 4 days stay.

This hotel is very close to transport connections which was important for us as independent travellers. It is in walking distance for tourist attractions & old town. The hotel reception area is somewhat impersonal both in position but also attitude of staff which made it very “business like” rather than friendly, warm & welcoming. The breakfast if included in the price is wonderful but if not there are great & cheaper cafes very close by. The hotel was clean & met our needs well.

Disappointed... The room was ok, impressive to have a hower with view on the rest of the room, but please, a shower, with no massage function, and for a four-sztars hotel no bath instead of it... Some cheap details, just ok

Our evening arrival in Dresden was unexpectedly delayed by two-and-a-half hours. When I called the hotel the receptionist reassured me that this would not cause a problem, our room of choice would still be available. At the reception desk, we had some difficulty checking in because a credit card reader was malfunctioning. Again a friendly attitude from the staff helped; the replacement machine worked fine. We were given a street map and brochure describing what Dresden had to offer, which proved very useful. For rail travellers, the hotel is ideally located, close to the Hauptbahnhof. You can see it ahead of you on the pedestrianised Prager Straße as you come out of the station. From the hotel it is an easy ten minute walk down this modern street into the central part of the city where most attractions are, including a large variety of eating places. There are attractive cafés for breakfast very close to the hotel (we didn't have breakfast at the hotel itself). Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable with up-to-date furnishings and bathroom fittings and a window we could open at night (good!), and the whole hotel is well air-conditioned, which we appreciated in the very hot weather during our stay. The larger than life picture of a woman's face over our bed was off-putting, but at least this wasn't the first thing we saw when we woke up in the mornings. One thing I'd like to have seen in a hotel of this quality was a pool or jacuzzi, rather than the advertised massage facilities and sauna. We slept well, although the pillows (only one for each person) were too soft for our liking; extra pillows would have been provided had we asked, but it would have been nice to find some spare ones in the closet. The room keys were rather awkward to use and carry around. Wifi access (no fee) was easy and reliable throughout our two night stay.

the position is in the city center. Hotel crew was really friendly and professional. Parking - there is not enough available parking slots to park the car before the check-in process. parking area is not so close and you will have to drive around the block and walk back to the hotel. right next to the hotel there is the option to park on the street - price 6 € per 24h. the hotel will charge you 21 € per night. Room - was quite small and dirty, I found all over hair from the previous guest. Gym - a small room equiped with some cardio machines. you can skip it and go to the Fitness first informt of the hotel.
