The 1 bedroom apartment felt like home away from home. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. I also felt safe, despite the pandemic, due to the steps put in place.

Poorly serviced, short staffed, dirty, unorganised

"No cleaning staff the week I stayed according to reception so rubbish was to be left in the corrider for collection at some" stage (disgusting!) Every single morning I had to explain (almost argue) that I do not need to pay for breakfast, it can be charged to ACF (this was a work trip) Reception area, elevator and all commmon areas looked like they were well overdue for a vacumme. Staff had no ediquette relating to waiting for a elevator. Just barged infront of what was a formal / respectful line. Then when I go to check out, there is a handwrittin note attached to my suitcse to say my credit card had been incorrectly charged for the entire stay (should have been charged to ACF) they added that it had been 'immediately refunded'. My credit card was overdrawn and the $267.44 withdrawn from my credit card has still not been refunded.

I would love the opportunity to discuss further over the phone with you if possible, if you had a best contact number and time to call? I do deeply apologise if the servicing of the room was not explained correctly on check in as we endeavor to minimise the risk to guests and staff by not accessing rooms during a guest stay do to the increased infections and isolation requirements from the government and for both our guests and teams safety, happy to explain this further on the phone as well, and currently with these protocols we have 25% of our team in isolation. I do also apologise for the breakfast and will follow up with the team in breakfast, however we do require to "post" a charge when you come for breakfast to the room to charge back the company, as we only charge the company if you have breakfast. And I do also apologise for the charging of your personal credit card, this was actually myself on reception who checked you out and I reversed straight away, which normally would cancel the charge taken immediately, I will follow up with our accounts team and the bank as to why this did not happen on this occasion, however I am disappointed that the handover to you when you came back to collect your bags was via a note and not communicated to you via the team, which I will also follow up on. Due to this inconvenience over your stay and error on my part, I have further refunded you the $115.00 you paid for your first nights accommodation today as a gesture, which you should receive back into the card in the coming days. Again I do deeply apologise, and would love to also apologise via the phone if possible and discuss further Thank you again for sharing your experience, and I do hope we can welcome you back and endeavor to win back your faith. After having trouble with a prior booking at a different hotel, Ibis Melbourne was incredibly accommodating at such short notice over the New Year’s Eve period. The gentlemen working (who I didn’t catch the name of, but from what I assume he was the manager), was amazing. He looked after us without hesitation and turned a stressful experience into an easy one. I cannot be more thankful for his hospitality and the kindness he showed. The room was great and exactly what we needed for an amazing price given the time of year we stayed. I highly, highly recommend a visit to Ibis Hotel Melbourne! I can guarantee that they will look after you.

The last time i stayed in ibis melbourne was 2018, pre covid. I came to attend my daughter's graduation in Dec and stayed in ibis again. As usual, the stay is pleasant, with friendly and nice staff. Wonderful staff, comfortable rooms, super quality beds and linen, clean bathroom and superb location for CBD and the tourist precinct of Carlton, Victoria Markets with trams around the corner. The curtains & blinds should be replaced - they are tired looking and detract from the look of the rooms.
