Mercure Bordeaux Aeroport Hotel 4 stars

I stayed one night to catch an early flight out of Bordeaux.

I've stayed at this hotel a number of times. It was, until recently, the closest hotel to Bordeaux Airport, about a 15 minute walk away. On my June 2022 visit, I booked at the last minute after my flight was cancelled. Check-in was efficient and the room was comfortable. One good feature of this hotel is that there are two doors between the bedroom and corridor. There has been some refurbishment over the past few years and the new bathrooms are in good condition. Meals in the restaurant are at least adequate, sometimes good, and the breakfast buffet is decent enough. The shuttle to the airport is a useful feature.

I was warmly welcomed having done pre check in online and given my key and when I enquired about an airport shuttle, was told I didn't need to 'book' but should just show up the next morning a few minutes before the shuttle leaves. I needed the 5.30am shuttle for a 7am flight. I came downstairs at 5.20am and was told that the first shuttle was full as there were others who had been waiting earlier than my arrival (it operates on a first come first served basis) and so I'd have to either wait for the shuttle to go and come back or take a taxi or I was welcome to negotiate myself with the other guests! This was very disappointing having specifically asked about it the night before and so instead of a free shuttle, I had to take a taxi (thankfully there was one available - had there not be my hands would have been tied and I would have had to wait and as I had a bag to check in there wasn't a lot of time to spare). The hotel itself is comfortable enough - I would have preferred a physical room service menu in my room rather than a QR code as the online version differed slightly from the actual menu on offer in the restaurant (which I was told mirrored the room service menu). Otherwise - it was clean, comfortable and I would stay again but am hesitate to rely on their complementary shuttle service if it's first thing and time is tight!

Very clean and accommodating hotel. We had a flight canceled and booked a room last minute here and they were great. Their restaurant was very good and on premises. We had a very early morning flight and they got us a ride to the airport. Rooms were clean and comfortable. If you need a place near the Bordeaux airport I would pick this place!!
