This is a solid 4 star property. The location is great if you're in and out of Nice briefly by train as its only a few minutes walk to the station. Its a 10 to 15 minute walk to the old town centre and beach, on the main shopping road in Nice, (there is a tram running down the middle of it to the old town if you don't want to walk). One of the main attractions is the rooftop pool and bar, while to pool isn't huge and the deckchairs at a premium in the summer, its a great place to spend a pleasant, lazy late afternoon/evening in Nice. The rooms and common areas were clean and servicable but dated. The staff were friendly.

Third time not a charm

My recent stay at this centrally located hotel in Nice had its ups and downs. The hotel's location is a major plus, easily accessible via tram directly from the airport or a quick 20-euro Uber ride. The lobby exudes a welcoming atmosphere with comfortable seating areas and intriguing art that adds a touch of modern flair. However, my arrival late at night was slightly marred by the fact that I interrupted the receptionist having a smoke with friends right at the front entrance. Check-in was swift, though rather impersonal, and I was taken aback by the 500-euro security deposit required on my credit card, which seemed somewhat excessive. The room I was initially assigned was spacious, with twin beds pushed together to form a double. Unfortunately, the noticeable crevice between the beds detracted from comfort. The room was an accessibility one, designed for wheelchair users. While I appreciate the hotel's commitment to accessibility, I believe these rooms should be reserved for guests who specifically need these features. The accessibility adaptations, such as the wet room and support bars, took away from the aesthetics and overall feel of the room for someone not requiring these amenities. To add to the disappointment, the bed was uncharacteristically firm for an Accor property, which prompted me to request a room change first thing in the morning. Later that day, I was moved to a room with a proper double bed. While I was relieved to have a more comfortable sleeping arrangement, the room itself lacked the modern appeal I had experienced in previous stays at this hotel. This was one of the unmodernized Privilege rooms, which, despite offering amenities like a Nespresso machine, fridge, complimentary drinks, bathrobe, and slippers, fell short in other areas. The room had a musty, damp smell upon entering, likely due to the air conditioning, which was quite off-putting. I had an unexpected visit from a maintenance staff member who entered the room without waiting for me to answer the door—a surprising lapse in privacy. I was advised to use the 'Do Not Disturb' sign, but I felt this intrusion should not have occurred in the first place. Apparently there to check the AC, which I could guess may have been due to a complaint from the previous guest as it had a vibrating hum at nights. As time went on, I grew more comfortable in the room, enjoying the spacious walk-in shower, fast WiFi, large TV, and ample lighting. The hotel's rooftop swimming pool and trendy bar are definitely highlights, offering stunning views over the rooftops of Nice. The atmosphere is vibrant, with a beach bar vibe that’s especially inviting at night, and the prices are reasonable for the area. That said, this being my third stay at the hotel, I found this experience to fall short of the standard I’ve come to expect, especially compared to my previous stays in the updated terrace rooms or privilege rooms. Given the wide range of Accor properties available in Nice, I would advise the hotel not to take their Platinum members for granted. Overall, while the hotel has many positive attributes, my experience this time was below expectations.
