If it weren't for the staff at this hotel, I would have rated my experience lower. Every staff member we encountered, though was professional, courteous, helpful, and friendly. The front desk person we met upon arrival, I believe her name was Sunelde (I'm pretty sure I've butcehred the spelling), spent about 15 minutes with us preparing a plan and route to maximize our DDay sites visit. Her advice was spot on. The property itself is, in my opinion, is not worth the price they are charging. The location, while convenient to the DDay sites , is not as close to the beach as you are led to believe. It is centrally located for all the sites. Breakfast was as expected, nothing more, nothing less. Our room was less than impressive. Decent size by European standards, but old and in need of a face lift and thorough cleaning. The first night, there was a huge flying insect in the room and we hadn't opened the sliding door. The room also had visible dust in the upper corners on the wall. We spent 15 nights in hotels on this trip and the two we spent in this hotel were the most disappointing. They were also the most expensive nights.

Check in easy and relaxed. Covid well respected. Staff very amenable. Rooms and hotel clean and tidy. Rooms beginning to show the odd signs of wear and tear. Breakfast good, evening meal at restaurant a bit overpriced given range and quality.

My partner and I had booked here as a stop over for a 1200 km trip. I’ve stayed in Mercure hotels for years and frequent them as they’re always good quality at a somewhat reasonable price. On this occasion boy we’re we in for a surprise! Firstly the receptionist was lovely and very helpful. The room was nice and clean and was exactly what we wanted after our journey. The bad aspect was experienced when we went for dinner in their clubhouse restaurant. I had the risotto and it was delicious but my partner ordered the cooked salmon dish - I use the word ‘cooked’ lightly. It was 10% cooked and 90% raw. We didn’t eat the salmon, this can be seen in the photo attached. Nothing was said to us or table touch provided during or after the meal. Following desert I asked for the bill and was responded to with “go to the scary black man and be careful” both my partner and myself look at each other and couldn’t believe what we had just been told. Upon arrival at the bar the server who I believe may have been the manager said it to us again one more time! Both my partner and myself are managers in a 5* hotel resort in Ireland we simply couldn’t believe what we had experienced. Appalling and shocking experience. This is not what Mercure’s standards are.

Good location, closed to beach, not far from the city neither but the room was not pleasant at all. It wasnt 4 star hotel cleanness and the bathroom smelled horrible. We booked for 3 guests(couple+kid) but there were only 2 sets of towels. Breakfast was good too.

Excellent location, in a middle of a golf and close to the coast. The view is great. Rooms and beds are nice, facilities are good, especially sauna and hammam. Staff is really nice and helpful! Good breakfast with variety of choices. I recommend this hotel.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options. The only thing I would say is no matter how hard we tried the shower design resulted in water being sprayed on the floor.

Calm hotel and very very good location, the view on the golf course is amazing. But service very limited due to lockdown. The hotel could have done better service wise, but they chose to offer the bare minimum. No open gym, no open spa, industrial breakfast and expensive bad dinner. The hotel is due to a renovation in my opinion… Overall good but not amazing for a 4 star hotel.

Arrived late, the receptionist was the only positive encounter. I had originally booked for 4 days but checked out and cancelled stay immediately the following morning. Our first room had not been cleaned, the room was infested with flys! the chairs were dirty and the staff tried to swat the flys having killed a few it was suggested room change. the second room had not been fully refurbished, my 3 yr son cut his feet on poorly laid bathroom tiles and unfixed steel room divider., woman's used make up was found inside the bed! disgusting overall encounter. given the current economic situation I would have thought every attention to detail would have been a priority to incoming guests, not here and not 4 star standards.

stayed in the hotel for two nights and played both courses. Staff were exceptional as the food in the restaurant. Room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the 9th hole. Didn't like the shower as it was in the bath and was mounted in a weird place

The quality in regard to the price is not in line. Hotel is not as close to the beach as suggested. Both our Rooms were dirty (dust, hairs and dirty toilet) and not cleaned according to COVID regulations. After complained rooms were cleaned again. Price too high for delivered services. As extreme regular traveler I would not recommend.

When deciding where to stay for our D-Day tour the Mercure Hotel Omaha Beach seemed the perfect choice. And it was for the location. The hotel itself needs a face lift. It sits on a 36 hole golf course which is very nice, the Omaha Beach can be seen as well. The hotel rooms need to be renovated. The beds seem to be laying on flat surfaces without box springs. They sat much lower to the ground. The furnishings are dated as well. The only real bar is the lobby bar next to reception. Reception staff also mans this area which can make it awkward during check in of new guests. Towels in the bathroom were definitely older, thin, subpar. The restaurant on site was not good. We dined there on two nights and found the food average at best. One night I ordered filet of pork which I thought would be pork tenderloin. What I received was bacon wrapped ham shank. Wife ordered a steak that was grossly overcooked, well done. Both nights each of us attempted to order one of two salmon starters listed on the menu but received the other, even though I pointed to the one I wanted on the menu. 2nd night I ordered fish and chips and got fish sticks with chips. It was good but not what I expected. On the plus side the reception staff was great, very helpful and accommodating. And again, if your touring the D-Day invasion area the hotel location is perfect. Just plan on dining else where. As far as price goes, its a little overpriced for what you get but again, location is worth something.

Our three day stay was marred with ups and downs, location, room and facilities are good however our room was not available on arrival and on one of the other days of our stay had not been cleaned on our return at 4.30pm. We ate in the restaurant on one occasion and it was poor for food and service.
