A typical novatel room size

We stayed here for 3 nights as a base to visit Bordeaux. From the outside the hotel does not look like much and google maps took us through a questionable part of town to get here. Less central than the centre would imply this hotel is about 15-minute walk from the main part of Bordeaux however it is very close to the tram and a shopping centre/mall. The room was comfortable and a typical size room for novotel. The hotel internally looks recently renovated and have a reusable water bottle system in place however its only 1 per room and there was 2 of us.

well located but inexperienced young staff was not a great fit

reservation was botched due to a website issue. Big disconnect between accor website and novotel hotel. when arriving, checkin staff didn't know restaurants even though they had brochures which were later found. They were out of english maps, had to use french, never told of upgrade and gave better room to children. No coffee maker in basic room. Blaring music at 7am during breakfast. confusing instructions for parking. No soap in shower that when used when all over the floor. air conditioning was useless.

Well located, great stay

Location was great. Comfortable rooms and hotel services. Very pleasant bar with games for kids. We had a great time in the city and Novotel made everything easier for us.

Pleasant stay

We were quite happy overall with the hotel, including the staff service, especially staff of the front desk; and the quality of the breakfast. We've been upgraded to an executive room, which we've appreciated a lot. The front desk was very helpful providing answers and advice. Their manner of communication was quite customer-oriented. The staff providing breakfast were also very helpful. The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to public transport services and the city center.
