We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and always had a good experience. It is well placed within walking distance of the main square and has good size car park. The Covid-19 precautions work well and we would have no hesitation in staying here again.

We went to Aachen for the Xmas markets as we have many times before and as always stayed in the Ibis, which is just a 10-15 minute walk from the market and town. As always we were not disappointed with the hotel, the service or the markets, actually the hotel had been decorated and was even better than before. Recommend 100%

We have used this hotel many times as a stop over for trips by train beyond Aachen into Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. On this occasion, as usual, we stopped over on both outward and return journeys. This time, however, due to the closure of a favoured (I use English spelling) nearby restaurant, we used the hotel restaurant for the first time, since we are now less mobile than previously. There were not many customers but the service was excellent and while the menu was fairly basic, it suited our needs and we were able to make acceptable choices on both occasions. Ibis offers good value for couples; but rather expensive if you're on your own. Curiously the basic room price was higher on the return journey. - European Railwayman

Stay in Aachen on our way to Budapest. This is an excellent hotel. Really comfortable bedrooms and great breakfast. Reception staff very helpful. Aachen has a really lovely old town centre. Really enjoyed our stay.

This hotel shouldn't be mistaken for the Ibis Aachen Hbf, even though it is actually closer to the station than the other one (and, in my opinion, more conveniently-located as well). It is one of the older in the chain, but it doesn't really feel so. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a recommendation

This is a typical Ibis hotel-simple accommodation at a value price. Nothing in the way of bells and whistles (although there is a small bar area and restaurant) but it is clean and efficient. The room was small but pleasant. The bed (queen size, I think) was very comfortable as was the pillow. In fact I slept better there than the much higher priced accommodation we stayed at in Bonn and Cologne (not Ibis). We choose it because we are traveling through Europe by train and it is within walking distance of the station (350 metres). My rating is based on my expectation for a budget hotel (2.5 - 3.0 stars).

Very well located hotel, 10 - 15 minutes walk to the city center. Parking is available and costs 8 euros. The room and facilities are Ibis standard. There were minor issues in the shower cabin that need repair/change like leakage from the shower hose, cleaning of the sewage, etc.

It seems that renovation was going on in other rooms, and from the morning there was a big noise every day. At least notofication needs to be given to the guests. In general, facilites were good, but the room was slightly too cold, and there was no way of controlling the temperature.

From the moment we arrived at the Ibis Aachen Marschiertor we were made very welcome having stayed many times before this was to be expected. All areas of the hotel were clean and tidy, the staff were courteous at all times and our room was of an adequate size. Breakfast was well up to Ibis standards and at no time did we find any shortages in the buffet every thing we consumed being wonderfully fresh and we enjoyed everything we ate. Would I stay at the Ibis Aachen Marschiertor again? Yes most certainly.

Perfect hotel for a city trip or other stay in Aachen. Near to the citycenter, confortable rooms good breakfast and fair price and friendly staff. No complains, everything went well. To be recommended.

A useful place to stay, close to the railway station (indeed, closer than the Ibis Hauptbahnhof!). I was working at the university (close enough and my colleague could easily stop and pick me up) and my partner could easily walk into the centre and explore Aachen. Breakfast is excellent and the evening bar useful. For dinner I would recommend the Alten Zollhaus, very near.

We have used this hotel many times on our regular road trips through Europe. It is in a very convenient location with good access to Aachen city and relatively easy access from the motorways. The rooms, whilst comfortable, lack air-conditioning and on this visit it certainly would have improved our stay. The bar and breakfast rooms could also have benefited from some cooling as they were very hot even at 8am in the morning.
