Our vacation ended abruptly when my husband went into the CHU on Fri Sept 13th. He wasn't discharged until the morning of Sept 18th. Our travel group left on the 16th without us. I wrote a letter to praise 2 employees: Lorraine and Amy. Both of these gals were extremely helpful to me. (helping me call taxis, Ubers, getting me train tickets to Paris, and answering lots of questions) I wouldn't have made it without these 2 women. Thank you

On a travel trip with Gate 1 Travel recently. One of the hotels selected on our trip was Mercure Caen Centre in Caen, France. Not having been to this hotel before. I contacted the hotel by email asking if I could have a room on a higher floor. I sent the same request to the two other hotels we were staying at during our trip. The two other hotels honored my request. Upon arrival I was given keys to a room on first floor. The room was very dark. The room itself was below ground level and window which was small was on the floor level of ground. I went immediately to the front desk where the male desk clerk said he couldn’t help me. Luckily our tour guide had a copy of my email request that I had sent the hotel. Another clerk came in and she was able to provide me with a room on the 3rd floor. Which solved the problem. And I may add the female clerk was customer service friendly. If you are staying at this hotel in the future. I suggest that you make sure to avoid the rooms on lower floors and avoid rooms facing the busy streets. As many people on our trip had problems sleeping because of nightlife which the rooms face.

A two night stop on the way from Calais to Brittany. We used our day to take in the uk D Day landing memorial and SM Caen v Ajaccio in the evening. Check in was a breeze with friendly reception staff. Our room had a view out across the end of the quad plaisance...we could just about see the water.
