I had 6 night stay.......glad i am out of there! The plus's.........Location for me 9/10, close to office, metro and Centre of Paris. The Room....3/10, bed is well worn and uncomfortable, the aircon does not work and the windows do not open. It's like a prison cell. Room servicing is minimal at best....the bedsheets have not been changed since i have been here, the coffee / tea not replenished and 2 out of 6 days the bins not emptied. Basic room maintenance is minimal at the very best. I did ask for new towels on day four - never got them. Check-In: 9/10. Very friendly lady from Russia. Very helpful and informative. Check-out: 5/10. The lady couldn't care less........no emotion, no questions about my stay..........nothing!! Greem Restaurant: 2/10. Should be renamed Grim Restaurant. The staff are just rude and uncaring.......food is mediocre at best and takes forever to come once ordered...and this is when the restaurant is empty!! I guess they have to wake the chef up or something! Breakfast: 2/10. Not good. Overcrowded. Food not restacked when the bowls are empty, dirty tables...........it's a crap shoot at best!! Bottomline, go outside for breakfast, 1000% better and cheaper. Will NOT be staying here again........ To the hotel, do not bother responding to my post about 'we take your comments into consideration and will try to do better blah blah blah' because both you and i know that is just a bunch of lies and dribble and the management will continue to do nothing but continue to charge the patrons 'NOVOTEL' rates for Non-Novotel standards and service.

Located in La Defense, it takes 20-30 minutes to get into the centre of Paris. By far the worst Novotel I've visited. No airco in the room, simply not working. Room was outdated. The hotel lacks proper elevators, only 3 small ones that serve all the floors which is way to little. In the morning is was almost impossible to get to the grond floor, all cramped. Walking is no option, you cannot get to the ground floor... Also long queue for the breakfast restaurant, also way too small for the number of hotel guests. Staff is chaotic, lack of proper management. Despite my Gold status, I did not get an upgrade because we had a group booking (which by the way was not cheap at all).

Some like it hot...at La Defense!

This has to be one of the worst 4-star hotels I've stayed out. The primary function of a hotel is to get a good night's sleep. This wasn't possible as at this hotel, the air conditioning had been turned off 'as we go into winter.' As the windows are sealed this allows no air flow in the room. During my first night, the temperature in the room approached 30 degrees. Bed soaked and got no sleep. Commented to the receptionist at 8am, only to be dismissed, as 'nothing could be done'. Spoke to the manager Aidan who offered to swap rooms. This room was only 25 degrees! (maintenance came with a thermometer to check) The promise of a air con being put back on or a fan arriving never materialised. The restaurant and reception were new, but the breakfast area was tired. Understocked in the morning and chaotic. DO NOT STAY HERE - only giving a one star as Aidan tried to help in a failing, tired hotel.

It's not a 4-star hotel!!

This is an old hotel with run-down rooms, dated decor, and a very poor breakfast. Service at the front desk was good. Location is also far from the centre. This cannot be a 4-star hotel. No fridge or proper coffee facilities in the room. There are better 3-star hotels in Paris.

Arrived with husband and my son and his wife on Saturday 30th Sept for 2 nights. We were part of a UK trip Racing breaks going to Arc de Triumphe racecourse. Dropped cases off as it was 2pm and too early for check in. Thought we would have a drink in the bar and plan our sightseeing day. No one was serving. Asked reception where server was and she telephone round to locate the man. He arrived no welcome! Got a taxi to vacate the hotel. Arrived back 9.30pm. Checked in. Room 122 and 120 on first floor. Very disappointing. Old drab decor. Separate toilet ( with no air conditioning or fan ) Bed sqeaky and uncomfortable. Never mind only staying 2 nights. Went downstairs for a drink. A different bar man was on. He was quite rude and ignored us, instead of serving was speaking to his fellow server. Eventually my husband asked for service. The lager was not good and did not taste right, took it back but he did not change it. This was not cheap. There was not a full stock of drinks in bar, no gin. Lager was finished on draught, no more left. He closed the bar at 11pm. I went to reception as a lot of British people still required serving. Reception said bar closes 12 midnight and telephoned him. On receiving the phonecall he through the phone down in the sink in temper at being told to stay open another hour. T he then went on a babble in French. The bar was full. So everyone ordered more drinks. The next day we went racing. Arriving back at hotel 9pm. It was the same man working behind the bar. Again no draught beer or lager, no rum, no gin. This time no bottles. As sold out. I asked why the bar was not restocked onernight, he just shrugged his shoulders. Not bothered.This is very disappointing that a multinational hotel of this size could not accommodate the majority of drinks. He was not bothered, just walked away. We gave up and went to bed. Breakfasts were also pretty poor. No staff smiled or welcomed us. There were no English Breakfast teabags. I had to ask 3 serving staff before someone went in a cupboard to locate them. Breakfast was busy and overcrowded with stocks not replenished. A cup of tea, bread and cheese was all I had. No value for money. To summarise, staff were miserable and looked as though they did not want to be there. They were not welcoming, and it was though everything was too much an effort for them. The toilets located one floor below were also not clean and did not smell nice. I have stayed in Novotels all over the world, but this was the worst I had ever experienced. Location wise. We struggled to get a taxi as the taxi drivers did not want to come to this hotel as you get stuck in traffic. Not a very good experience. No customer care. Staff need to be retrained and greet people with a smile.
