Awful service, poor staff, below average rooms in need of refresh

The location was perfect for me, but pretty much everything else was a let down, check in is a horrible experience with staff ignoring customers, once you are served its an overly convoluted process, the elevators are slow and too few for the hotel size, the rooms are a reasonable size and i was fortunate to be in one of the 'executive' rooms but some of my colleagues were in standard rooms that were very poorly fitted out. One night elected to order room service, no room service menu in the room or online, called room service who wouldn't tell me what salads they had but insisted i call reception, who would then provide me with a menu, called room service, no answer so ended up heading down to the lobby to get a menu, reception was busy so had to wait to grab one, once back in my room ordered a salad and a bottle of water, 40 mins later it arrived, the waiter wanted me to pay straight away rather than sign, but didn't have a card machine, he did thankfully leave the food while he went to get one, the salad was ok, but there was no glass for the water, symbolic of all this missed opportunities for this hotel to be better than it is......it isn't even particularly competitive on price

After trying many hotels in London, this has become my favourite. Being close to the tube, large rooms, ideal for conferences and located close to restaurants, this has become a favourite. Large and efficient breakfast restaurant or a la carte restaurant during the evening.

This used to be a decent hotel, but hadn’t stayed here for about 15 years. The decor and condition of the bedroom was awful. Broken sink, shower knob comes off in your hand, carpet looks dirty and so old, switches worn, I could go on. Clearly this is a cash cow for Novotel with no investment. Sad.

Disappointing experience

I was expecting something better for a four-star hotel. The hall is nice but the rooms are totally decadent. The facilities were old in general. I also tried the food at bar downstairs and didn’t like it. I wouldn’t go back.
