Fast check in, good rooms, AC not so Good. Too warm in the room during summer. Shuttle service is on time & fast.

We called the reception on June 26th to wake up our son but nobody answered to 100s of calles during 4:40AM to 6:40AM. I wondered this can be the case in view of security ? I tried to call Ibis budget nearby and Ibis AMs city center then someone was there, however they could not help us at all. I would like to know what was this experience.

Have stayed at the Ibis Amsterdam Airport many times before and will again in the future. The location next to the "Knooppunt Schiphol Noord" bus hub and the regular free airport transfer bus means that the facilities of both the airport and the centre of Amsterdam are within quick easy reach at little cost. The facilities of the hotel however on this occasion were limited. There was no bar, no restaurant, no diner. Just the canteen, where breakfast is served, on the 4th floor, offered a buffet for lunch and dinner, which I felt at €27.50 was overpriced. The coin operated laundry is useful as is the ice machine. The kiosk on the ground floor was reasonably well stocked but the coffee/tea device wasn't working during our stay either and was only manned after 4pm, otherwise having to pay at the main reception desk. I understand that staffing is an issue post-Covid, however more could be made of the ground floor kiosk, to ensure that people can see what's for sale, what's in stock and that tea/coffee and draft beer are more widely available.
