I did not stay due to Covid 19 restrictions. Despite staying at this hotel regularly I had hoped for a credit note for a future stay but was not offered one due to booking with Booking.com.

The hotel had done everything to take all possible COVID measures but still be a hospitable hotel. Especially the breakfast with single-person-wrapped fresh cheese and meat was well appreciated!

The room was extremely small, dated decor with a awful view of a car park. I booked this for the final night of our holiday as I thought given the cost that it would be a Lovely hotel however, extremely disappointed. The restaurant was closed and the breakfast was ok. Again I can not describe my disappointment and the service on checkout was poor, if I had the option I would not have paid however the money was deducted from my card which I had used to reserve the room online. I am actually speaking with my solicitor for advice as the product described on website was not what was delivered and I feel others should not be midsold I we so clearly were.

Despite COVID, the hotel was friendly and the venue clean and worked well within social distancing and hygiene guidelines. It is small so don’t expect to be staying in a palace. The breakfast is a little disappointing so I would skip it in future, but otherwise a comfortable stay. Tip: if staying and you have a car, make sure you pick up a parking ticket from reception BEFORE you try to enter the car park.

Room dirty, looked like the cleaning lady didn't do our room that day (esp. the bathroom left to be desired). Although IBIS is a basic hotel this one is even less than just basic and at that price you can have so much nicer rooms elsewhere with a great service and a clean hotel. Not a pleasant experience.

A very comfortable stay

We spent one night at the hotel, a last-minute booking that afternoon after crossing to France. The welcome was pleasant and we found that every member of staff was pleasant and cheerful from arrival to departure. English is spoken if needed. I commented when leaving that the cheery whistle of a male member of front of house staff denoted somebody who enjoyed their work. Our room was a good size, pleasantly decorated and extremely clean, as was the bathroom. The only things I didn’t like were the pillows, much too soft for me, so my sleep wasn’t as good as I would have wished. We were extremely pleased to have a very quiet room, which was on the fourth floor. We took the half-board option, knowing that we wouldn’t want to head out for a meal later; we found this good value. Our evening meal of 2 courses was tasty and the glasses of Provence rosé we drank were a good accompaniment. Service was excellent and cheerful. Breakfast was of good quality and was extensive, one of the best we’ve had in any French hotel; we stay at several French hotels each year and have done so for many years. It did seem a little disorganised, with juice and coffee proving tricky to find for quite a few guests; it was very crowded while we were eating. Parking under the hotel is available at 8€. Useful to know is that a code card is needed to enter the garages under the building (entrance is at the far end of the hotel) and that part of the garage, at the front far end, is for hotel guests. There’s a personal exit door up steps to the outside from that area, turn right to get to the hotel guest entrance; the code card is needed when returning to the garage by that door. The hotel is easy to find and only a short walk from the town centre; we stayed on a Friday night and walked up to the Saturday market, always an enjoyable experience. We enjoyed a pleasant lunch in Boulogne before setting off on our journey, and staff were happy for us to leave the car in the garage until after lunch, having checked out in good time. We will happily stay again in the future when needing a hotel just across the Channel.
