We had a great time, especially the kids. They loved the pool. The staff were very friendly and eager to help with whatever they could.

Good for family with children

This hotel is more suitable if you have kids that love the pool. Location is pretty good within few mins walk around the Nite Market, Esplanade, ferry terminal, etc. Staff is generally pretty nice be it the reception or the pool bar.

Hello Erico2709, Thank you for your review its great to see the international market returning. Happy to see that you got out and enjoyed Cairns City we are very lucky with our location being so close to many attractions. Erico2709 we hope to welcome you back to Cairns in the future. Kind regards Shelly Operations Manager

618malj Couples - TripAdvisor review

Hotel is in a great location, central to The Esplanade, next door to the Cairns Aquarium, and near to the marina. Ammenities were great, pool area really good. The downside, I booked this hotel well in advance, paying premium price for a nice room with full bathroom after spending almost 2 weeks in a camper van using caravan park amenities to be given a ground floor room with a fully tiled shower only accessible bathroom. We questioned this with reception only to be bluntly told that was all that was available as they were fully booked. I have emailed the hotel a week ago and had no response. Not good enough.

Hello 618malj, Thank you for your review. I would be more then happy to discuss the issue with you whenever your free. Please pop the hotel a call and ask for myself. I would usually pop you a call however don t have your details available. 618malj please accept my apologies that the team couldn't find a solution for you whilst you were inhouse. 618malj look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards Shelly Operations Manager

Great location for eateries

Not far from the foreshore, and most of the popular eateries. Rooms are clean freshly painted and comfortable. The wing we were in needed the outside floor tiles cleaned or replaced in parts as tired. This can be excused due to Covid and now the lack of staff/tradesmen to obtain. Pool area very pleasant to be next to. Lots of family gatherings.

Great hotel but clueless on accessibility

Chris S. Couples - Confirmed reviews ALL

I am a wheelchair user so a couple of months ago my wife calls the hotel to see if they had an accessible room available. She was told they were booked out by people who did not need an accessible room & if we would pay for those guests to have an upgrade we could have the usually crappy accessible room. This is a new level of ableist absurdity from a mega-hotel chain!!! You pay for for someone else to be upgraded & then we may accommodate you... These Neanderthals really need to realise it's 2022!! So I attempted to email the MIA manager Scott Grant as most non-accessible rooms work for us if the bathroom is OK. I never got a word from MIA Scott Grant (though I am an Accor Platinum Member) however the wonderful Holly responded - she is fabulousQ It went a tad pear shaped when the usual ableist fear that "you must have the accessible room" vs us just wanting a cool room, but we insisted. Holly did some homework getting critical dimensions for the bathroom for us & we happily booked & enjoyed 7 nights. All was good & I tried to meet with Mr Scott Grant the day before leaving however engaged with asst manager George who ran interference for his boss & had zero interest in accessible tourism. Great venue, though as for the management...??? Accor as a group in Australia just makes me despair!
