Comfortable room, good value. Nice bar/lounge area. Car park secure, strict anpr control. Disappointing breakfast experience. Only fair quality food and understaffed.

Picked the hotel for closeness to motorway and happy with this. Not the hotel fault but charging machine needs longer cables! Too short to use, we had to park across both bays to charge! Not very friendly and moved before fully charged as did not want to be awkward for anyone else. Unfortunately the next people were not so thoughtful, cars were unregistered and stayed all night! They did unplug but stayed in the bay so not much point in that??

The staff are absolutely brilliant, very friendly and helpful. But in general the hotel is tired, once you get away from the reception area towards the rooms the corridor carpets have seen better days. I was staying in room 329 on the first floor, when I stay in a hotel I always open the window ( if possible) and the sliding window rail had several old cigarette ends stuffed in them which says a lot to me about house keeping, it is rather off putting. the carpet had several round stains around the seating area at the work station. The room itself was a good size though. I cannot comment on the bar or restaurant as I didn't use these facilities. What can I say about the car park, it is a claim waiting to happen. It is extremely pot holed and the lighting is atrocious, I left the hotel just after six in the morning so its still dark at this time of day and there is no lighting as you go to the car park or at the far parking area so in my opinion that is a recipe for an accident.

The room was clean, modern and comfortable. I had a great night sleep, which is rare for hotel room. Evening meal in the restaurant was not nice. The chicken burger was cold, the bun stale and chips soggy. The deep fried Brie was cold in the centre and clearly not heated up correctly from frozen. Somebody near me order the pizza, and it looked excellent in comparison.

The room seemed to move part of a cupboard as the lay out of the room was never thought about. On going to have a shave there was no hot water, but plenty of luke warm water. Also staff unsure about whether or NOT the EV charging is free or not as I had received an email back from Novotel stating that they thought it was free, but on arrival its NOT FREE. So perhaps educate staff on facilities available.

I was checked in OK but arriving in my room I noticed there was no shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom.. I went to reception and was given these items.. and an apology.. it looked like the room had been “cleaned” badly.. a towel had been left on the floor and the bin had not been emptied.. I had been driving for 8 hours so was too tired to complain again. The next morning I found a part used shower gel tube in the shower

Could not find the hotel. I use a sat nav. Only found the hotel when a kind gentleman at petrol stations asked us to follow him. The sink gutter smelt through the plug hole. the smell was quite strong and like a sewer. No ventilation in the toilet. The air conditioning units were outside our room and could hear them all night. There was no drinking water top up station. When i asked at reception I was told the water from the tap in the bathroom was drinkable.

Most importantly, my room was not touched during a three night stay..On my last visit, in May 2021, Covid was given as reason for lack of cleaning: on enquiring this time (off the record), lack of housekeeping staff was the reason...a hotel of this eminence...? Dinner on Sunday evening, particularly starter (squid) was mediocre: the main was obviously a frozen item warmed up (Tikka Masala). Breakfast 's were ok: lack of fruit; Mushrooms had black paste on them, which I complained about; well received by the restaurant manager, but not on. Overall, the staff were pleasant and reasonably efficient: let down, as above. Think I am due a partial refund..

Hello, I have stayed at Novotel Derby quite a few. times now. Unfortunately came across few issues this time. I prebooked an EXECUTIVE DOUBLE QUEEN BED room stay at the hotel, on the website I input my card information to guarantee the room. When I got there, I was given a normal room with 2 single beds in room which was surprising to say the least, we thought it was a mistake... We went back to reception and spoke to the gentleman, told him he had given us a to which we didn't book, I showed him the email which stated I have prebooked an executive Queen room with a double bed instead of 2 singles in a normal room. Once he saw my email, he said sorry we don't have any executive rooms left as they only have 10 and somehow all were allocated to someone, even though I have prebooked the room and had it guaranteed on the website using my card!? He said he can find me a normal room with a big double bed instead and offer me a £15 refund, I kindly accepted the offer. Then when we got to the room, it was ok like any other Novotel room, issue however was that when we ran the tap to fill the kettle, the sink absolutely stunk of something, like the drains needed cleaning. Initially I thought the water from the tap was drinking but it was the sink drain for sure, I was in ro 352 if you wish to check the sink drains again. Anyway overall 5 out of 10 for this stay. Was upset as me and my partner were looking forward to staying in the executive room which we didn't get to do.

The hotel was very clean and spacious. The rooms were kept to a high standard and the customer service was very good. The beds were very comfortable as well and the room included a fridge, which was nice.

Our 3 night stay did not include the normal housekeeping one would expect etc. Staff were not allowed into occupied rooms DUE TO COVID which was the mantra of all reception staff. The lift never had an interior clean as evidenced by the mirror. With fully sealed windows it was not a healthy way to avoid Covid. Luckily in the evening I could escape to my car with all windows open to breathe fresh air. The car park was full of trash and overflowing bins.
