Firstly the hotel is neither in Neuss nor anywhere near the centre of Dusseldorf. It is in a very quiet location 10-15 min walk from Norf train stop. Norf itself is 25 min train from Dusseldorf centre and can be reached directly from the airport in -40 mins. Taxi from airport is 50euro. Hotel is a little tired but very clean and the staff are excellent, very helpful. We had breakfast which is expensive at 18euro but plenty of choice and very nice. I would like more pillows as there is only one per bed. Would recommend but only if you’re fit enough to do lots of walking / hopping on off trains.

The hotel is average at best. Unfortunately, the whole house is giving off a past-its-prime vibe. The room itself was spacious and had everything needed. But there was literally no wifi reception in the room at all which meant extra costs and annoyance for me. At breakfast, the baked beans and the scrambled egg were half cold and in total the breakfast misses the certain "je ne sais quoi" that I would expect at a price like that: no salmon, very little fresh fruit. I will sleep there again - but only if I must.

I like the hotel, service is very friendly and it is well situated in an environment that even allows to go for walk into the green in the evenings. However, the entire building needs renovation. I think some rooms have already been refurbished, but the overall appearance is a bit neglected. Shame, because it could be a nice place to stay.

Standards have slipped.

I have stayed with you on several previous occasions, however this time standards seem to have slipped. The elevator was out of order for the whole of my stay, soap in the bath/shower was empty on arrival and over two dats was not refilled, tissue box empty. Eggs had run out at breakfast. I know these are small things, but they do make a difference! Bed very comfortable though!

The hallway on the floor had a unpleasant sent. Parking was not clearly marked (behind the hotel) nor were the receptionist forthcoming as to how to the options and how to get to the back of the hotel.
