I enjoyed very much the room and the double bed - I slept very confortable. I did not like at all the toilet room - only toilet without any sink / washbasin to wash yourself. I did not like part of the dinner - a burger with onion - burned, terrible. Wine glass was served with cork floating on the surface. I sent it back for a change. My expectations for a NOVOTEL are higher.

We came late to the hotel. The reception had already checked in my hotel room and didn't care about upgrading our room even if I'm platinum. We were two people, and we got only one welcome drink, so we didn't use it. Plus, she didn't take the time to explain where the breakfast will be noting that there were works ongoing in the reception. The room was clean though.

We try to upgrade each platinium, unforntunatly many guest has the same statue and we can't upgrade everybody. Again, I would like to present to you our apologies about your stay. I was very disappointed when I arrived since I found 2 used towels in my bathroom as well as signs of make up on the floor. The toilets were also smelling bad. I called the reception, spoke with Rafael (if I'm not mistaken) and his answer was "Thank you". he didn't provide any solution for the problem or manifested any concern about it. Definitely not a 4 star hotel and not at the Novotel level of quality.

Off the road seven o ‘clock at night we had a warm greeting at reception. As an Accor member I thought the room a little expensive but satisfactory in all other ways. Big room, very clean and a supremely comfortable bed. Well appointed shower room again very clean. Excellent evening meal, politely served and most enjoyable. Good breakfast even if frying my own egg in a restaurant was a new experience. Well secure car parking was very good and getting back to the Autoroute to continue our journey very easy.

Real Staff Management Issue

The hotel itself was comfortable, the room was very clean. However I was very disappointed with the staff management attitude. A trainee was learning to use the cashier system and was verbally being abused by the rest of the staff and specifically by the manager in front of the C. at the bar. She was CLEARLY shouting at the her trainee with a very disrespectful manner with no shame in front of multiple guests and on multiple occasions. I was feeling very embarrassed as she did not deserve such bad treatment in public. Between us guests we talked and agreed that the Manager was shouting at her with humiliation and this is no way the standard we are expecting from a Novotel. What is going on in this hotel is just horrible and unacceptable. I will certainly avoid this hotel in the future.

Rooms basic, but clean and everything works. I like the idea that the windows open over the garden which is much quieter than those facing the motorway. The new automated process of checking in and out is a big improvement as previously the queues at reception were very slow. I do not speak French so it would help a lot if the correspondence sent to me were in English. I was disappointed that my room was one of the old ones with a shower over the bath - I had specifically requested a newer room with a shower only.

We often stay here en route to the South of France because it is conveniently located for us. It is adequate for a one night stop, but this time the service in the restaurant was very poor: Waitress took ages to come and take our order, then she brought one aperitif but forgot the other. She then proceeded to bring the wine for the meal before the second aperitif finally arrived. She also forgot the bread and got our bill wrong. The restaurant wasn't even busy.

Thank you for your loyalty to our establishment. I offer my sincere apologies for the service at the restaurant. Our new food and beverage manager arrived yesterday and his assistant in a week, we will quickly return to our usual performance. Sincerely Beatrice General Manager Novotel Lyon Nord

We have stayed many times at this hotel and have always been very satisfied that we considered it the best Novotel hotel. On this occasion it was the restaurant that let you down. The service was very slow about fifteen minutes before we were able to place an order for food and drinks. Nothing happened for a while and we had to ask again can we have the drinks. These eventually came. Again a long wait for the entree and finally the main meal. Both were not upto the usual standard we have had many times before. The room was very good and my only comment is one I have said many times that the welcome drink is only given to me and not my wife which does not much of a welcome.
