Absolute trash!!! Booked a room with 2 beds and arrived to be given some basement wanna be cabin in the woods trash with one bed. It’s me and my daughter they said they upgraded me? And gave me a roll away bed! HTF is that an upgrade? It’s me and my daughter and I drove 6 hrs to sleep in a nasty ass roll away basement stored bed because they sold out of rooms with 2 beds that I reserved . Trifling 100 % never again!

I was in town for a conference, and everything about 21c was wonderful. The rooms were comfortable, the pillows didn't sink, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food we were served during our conference meals were outstanding. The hotel makes many of its items in-house (the aged sage cheddar was to die for!) or else sources them locally. This hotel is comfortable and fun, and close to everything downtown.

When we arrived the hotel did not have any maps of the area, they eventually called to get some from somewhere. I picked up a map from another establishment. Many of the employees were not able to answer questions about things inthe area. The cost of the change in price almost doubled after 2 days not worth the extra cost. I guess when I booked the room I did not pay attention to this change in price, shame on me. The restaurant had delicious food, loved the red penguin. I would have loved to purchase a pin or patch of the penguin, but these were not available. Would loved to be able to get a cup of regular coffee before 7 am which I had to pay for at the restaurant, a bit pricey considering the cost of the room. The machine in the room is very loud so to use this and if more than one petson is in room was not cool. A small regular coffee but would have been a nice option. Since the cost of the room was as high as it was breakfast should be included and not an additional add on. I thought the hotel museum was an incredible opportunity for the artists and loved the art.

Stayed as part of Herdi conference. Positives: Really Interesting art. Well located hotel. Rooms were nice with comfy beds.pleasant staff. Negatives: terrible pillows. Truly hard to sleep with them and as part of the conference. the food was disappointing with the exception of the steak the last night - delicious! And has an issue with housekeeping damaging an expensive hairdryer. Working with management to resolve.

Love staying here. Emily in reservations was beyond helpful. Rooms are clean, love the penguins. BTW, if you happen to read other reviews, be sure to ignore the negative reviews, they are just not warranted!
