Good hotel but avoid the VIP breakfast area

Surprisingly good hotel - unpromising location if you arrive via metro stop for Tour Eiffel but just to other side is a bustling and busy commerces and it’s a short walk to two other metro lines. Good VIP check in. Only fly in ointment was poor service at the very sketchy VIP breakfast area. Arriving with only 10 minutes before the close if at 10am, a rude lady serveuse failed to mention that the main restau was open until 11. Inside the VIP breakfast the hot plates were gone, there was barely any cut fruit or bread. Then when I mention this oversight (in French) I’m told it’s all written on the door as I go in! She’s then told which one of us is the paying customer - cue more attitude. Rather took edge off a generally good service - impressive VIP and general check in staff. Manager needs to sort out staff in VIP kitchen bar.

We have just arrived at the hotel today and are staying for 3 nights. Amazing location and reception area very nice. Staying with kids in family room. Very nice view. Just writing this as extremely disappointed with room. Extremely hot, like sauna. No ventilation, fans not working. Tried everything, called reception three times throughout the day with no one even come to take a look. Not even an offer of fan( looks like this is a known problem). Struggling to sleep. Kids want to sleep in the corridor as AC seems to be working there and it is much cooler. Earlier today we had to leave hotel room door open to cool room down. Do not stay here. There are many same hotels in vicinity. It is not cheap and this is terrible. 3 calls and no response.

The hotel is located in a good area, not too far from the Eiffel Tower, and the room was comfy. The front desk and concierge personnel are kind and helpful. The restaurant, however, is a disaster: terrible food -- a limited and poor selection of cheap food items -- and the service lacks heart and soul. The entire experience felt like a feeding event, not like a pleasant breakfast in Paris. People are constantly smoking in the entrance to the hotel, making the coming and leaving experience very unpleasant.
