Very disappointed in the quality of room for the price we paid. $900 per night during Grand Pri weekend is clear price gouging when the std room rate is less than $200. Would have been happy to pay a reasonable seasonal rate of around $450 - $500 but for $900 we would expect a higher quality and include at least a complimentary breakfast. Very poor service on arrival as we were directed abruptly to the self check in machine. Small “Superior Family Room” wouldn’t accommodate a medium family, basic bathroom facilities of low quality, nothing special. I Would definitely NOT recommend this hotel for future stays, overpriced and overrated and there are better hotel options available in Melbourne. Don’t waste your money on this one. 😡😡😡

Everything about my experience at the Mercure Welcome Melbourne was excellent. The staff in reception were welcoming, helpful, and professional, the king room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, the central location was perfect, and breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

Love this hotel, wonderful location but was disappointed that I am Platinum and my friend also stay was Gold and she got a much bigger room and we both asked for a late check out and she got one and I did not, so Gold status was alot better than Platinum. But I will be back.

overall, satisfied with the cost. but housekeeping which was supposed to be on the 3rd day of our stay did not happen. We were instead given options for free pizzA/ beer. We would have wanted to have our linen changed. But at least, the trash was taken everyday- because we requested for it.
