The front desk team was so welcoming and helpful. Our room, which was a junior suite was perfect and comfortable. The room was surprisingly large for Amsterdam and the bed, pillows, linens, etc. were all super. If you want to be close to everything,, including the central train station and cruise port, this is the place.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with the utmost hospitality particularly from Robert who checked us in. A note congratulating us on our recent wedding and a ornament was left in the room on behalf of the hotel and it was small touches like that which made the holiday unforgettable. The room was spectacular, spacious, modern and not to mention the view! We could not recommend the swissotel enough and will definitely be back again!

The staff were friendly and welcoming, they helped me overcome an issue with a phone charger, gave directions and made a box lunch for an early departure at the airport.

I enjoyed my 2 nights stay. The location is close by to everywhere in the city. The tram station is just at the doorstep. There is AH to go next door where I could get fresh water everyday. Also enjoyed the Nespresso coffee and tea from the hotel amenities. Brilliant!

I stayed in a Junior Suite at this hotel for 8 nights and I couldn't be happier. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, and with an amazing view of central Amsterdam. Every one of the hotel staff were extremely professional, courteous, and helpful (Savanah in particular was a delight to deal with). The internet was extremely fast. The location absolutely cannot be beat. It is as central in Amsterdam as you can get yet still within walking distance of the train station. It is also next to the best currency exchange in town which gives you the best rates (Potts Exchange). There are only two minor negatives I give the hotel. First, I'm not a fan of the pillows. They seem luxurious and comfortable at first, but after a few minutes they end up being as flat as a piece of paper. I slept comfortably every night, but by using 4 pillows stacked on top of each other. Of course this is a personal preference and maybe some like the pillows. The other minor issue was that my room was directly across from the service room and the maid would go in and out of that room for every little thing and the door would slam. Even with my white noise machine sent to a very high volume I was still awaken by the service room door many times. I think the manager either needs to make those service doors gently close or tell the maid to keep the door propped open the entire time on the floor so it doesn't slam shut every time she goes in it for something. But despite those two minor negatives I am still forced to give the hotel a 10 out of 10 just because the hotel, the room, and the staff were so perfect.... I will be back!

-The night (after midnight) before arrival, I got an email explaining the details for check in and how to book parking spot. As the website of Qpark was under maintenance, I asked the hotel for another solution to book. So far, my email is still unanswered. -Check-in: the room was not ready at 14h. We had to wait around 1h to have the keys, so they had time to clean the room (fast cleaning that could have been done better). Almost no info was provided during check-in process. As a Le Club Accor gold member, I had absolutely no feeling of 'feel welcome'. No advantage of the loyalty program has been offered. -It's only the second morning that we have been informed that prior booking was mandatory. It must have been said during check-in as it was the case with other customers that were informed about this. -No cleaning of the room was done the second day. Around 20h, asking the reception about what's going on, the answer was: 'Yes we know about it, we are just running out of staff'. This kind of answer is really surprising in a 4* hotel. Customers don't have to care about staff management. We paid approximately 200€/night, so we expected the service to reach a certain level of quality, which was not the case. In summary, my first experience with Swissôtel and this Amsterdam hotel in particular was far from being satisfying. Hopefully the location of this hotel is really good for visiting the city.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location. We were given a Platinum status upgrade to a large room with an old stone Juliet balcony overlooking Dam Square - adorable. Room was quite modern although the bathroom was a bit 90s (a retractable line for drying clothes!). Staff were universally excellent. Was a bit pricey compared to the competition, but I'd always wanted to stay here and I'm glad I did.
